The banged-up Boston Bruins are getting closer to full strength. Boston has endured the absences of multiple important players — David Pastrnak (thumb), Jake DeBrusk (lower body) and Marcus Johansson (lung contusion), most notably — over the last few weeks. But ahead of Saturday night’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at TD Garden, Bruins fans got some some much-needed good news on the team’s injured stars. The headlines are DeBrusk and Pastrnak, both of whom returned to practice Saturday morning. Here’s a slew of updates, courtesy of Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy: Here are clips of Pastrnak and DeBrusk practicing at Wa... NESN.com

David Pastrnak Injury: Bruins Offer Discouraging Update On Star Winger

David Pastrnak is on the mend, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll return to game action anytime soon. The Boston Bruins winger has been on the shelf since having surgery to repair a thumb injury suffered Feb. 11 after a team sponsorship event. When first announcing the injury, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said Pastrnak would be reevaluated in “two weeks.” Well, the two-week mark has arrived, and here’s the latest on Pastrnak: Pastrnak did return to the ice Monday, though he still isn’t ready to hold a stick. Although it’s good news that doctors feel “great” about Pastrnak’s recovery, it’s hard to not feel worried... NESN.com

Bruins Notes: David Pastrnak Sets Franchise Record With Goal Vs. Flyers

David Pastrnak no longer is a budding star, rather a full-fledged one. And during Wednesday’s game, he etched his name into the Boston Bruins record books. The 22-year-old winger tallied the first goal of the game in the Bruins’ 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. And in scoring that goal, the 121st of his career, Pastrnak set the franchise record for most goals prior to their 23rd birthday, passing Barry Pederson. Certainly some elite company. One has to think that Pastrnak will make it even tougher for the next set of youngsters to pass him, as well. He won’t turn 23 until May of this year, meaning he

Boston’s seven selections were tied with the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings for third-most in the NHL. The Tampa Bay Lightning (10) and Chicago Blackhawks (9) finished first and second in that category. Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was arguably the biggest surprise snub left o...

Ducks’ Frederik Andersen Comes Up With Big Stop On David Pastrnak (Video)

The Boston Bruins’ David Pastrnak had a golden opportunity to get his team back in the game Tuesday night against the Ducks, but Anaheim goalie Frederik Andersen didn’t let that happen. Pastrnak was closing in on Andersen on his second breakaway chance of the night, but Andersen made one of his 21 saves in the Ducks’ 6-2 win.
