Brace yourselves, New England Patriots fans. You might not enjoy reading this. The Miami Dolphins stifled the Patriots’ seemingly unstoppable offense Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium, holding Tom Brady and Co. to just 248 net yards in a 27-20 victory. New England was a horrific 0-for-11 on third down conversions, as Miami intercepted Brady twice and appeared to have an answer for every Patriots offensive strategy. In fact, “appeared” might not be a strong enough word. After the game, Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh insisted his defense had New England pretty much figured out on offense. “They do a great job and they run the same offen... NESN.com

Patriots’ Jacob Hollister Could See His Role Increase In Rob Gronkowski’s Absence
The New England Patriots’ depth at tight end will be thin for Monday night’s showdown with the rival Miami Dolphins. Rob Gronkowski is suspended and Martellus Bennett is out for the season with an injury, so it likely will be veteran Dwayne Allen and fourth-string tight end Jacob Hollister getting most of the action at the position against the Dolphins. For more on Hollister, check out the “NESN Sports Today” video above, presented by People’s United Bank. ... NESN.com

Bill Belichick Briefly Explains Why Patriots Signed Backup QB Brian Hoyer
There was a quick 24-hour span when New England Patriots rookie tight end Jacob Hollister might have been Tom Brady’s backup quarterback. It seems obvious why the Patriots elected to sign Hoyer over other available quarterbacks, most notably former 49ers signal-caller Colin Kaepernick. Hoyer played with the Patriots from 2009 until the summer of 2... NESN.com
