Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — It didn’t take long for Malcolm Mitchell to realize why the New England Patriots are so successful. Mitchell was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Georgia, and he’s noticed the Patriots take their preparation very seriously. “Everything matters, from what you eat to how you hydrate to how much rest you get, to the amount of time you spend doing plays,” Mitchell said Sunday. “There’s not a single thing from the cleats you wear, to how you strap on your pads, to your mouthpiece, there’s not a piece that goes unnoticed. That, by far, is the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen thus far in my young life, to see something so detailed,

Patriots Practice Attendance: Injuries Piling Up On Offensive Line
Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ offensive line depth is quickly diminishing. Guards Tre’ Jackson, who is on the physically unable to perform list, and Jonathan Cooper and center Bryan Stork were absent from Day 4 of training camp Sunday. Wide receiver Keshawn Martin was newly absent, and running back Dion Lewis, also on PUP, hasn’t been spotted yet this summer. Cooper suffered a plantar fascia strain Saturday during practice, a source told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Guards Josh Kline and Shaq Mason haven’t been full participants in practice, leaving rookies Joe Thuney and Ted Karras on the top offensive line unit. Wide receivers Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Nate Washington, offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, tight end Clay Harbor and defensive tackle Alan
Patriots’ Handling Of Deflategate Reportedly Turned Entire NFL Against Them
Share this: To say the whole Deflategate situation hasn’t been kind to the New England Patriots would be a massive understatement. After the NFL shockingly handed Tom Brady a four-game suspension back in May 2015, the Patriots fought tooth and nail to try to get that ruling overturned and bring justice to their quarterback. That effort obviously failed, but in a recent article for SI.com, columnist Greg Bedard revealed that New England’s steadfast support of Brady did not go over well with the rest of the league. From Bedard’s column: “Even if Patriots owner Robert Kraft wanted to seek retribution and lead an ouster of (NFL commissioner Roger) Goodell… it’s not going to happen. NFL owners agreed to the rules and also that the

Dominique Easley Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Patriots Cut Eric Martin
The New England Patriots had another busy day on the transaction wire. The Patriots waived linebacker Eric Martin and signed running back Tyler Gaffney on Thursday. Former Patriots defensive tackle Dominique Easley went unclaimed on waivers after being released by New England on Wednesday. That means the Patriots currently are on the hook for Easley’s $ 1,083,959 in guaranteed salary. If another team signs him as a free agent, the Patriots have to pay the difference, because they had offset language in his contract. Martin signed to the Patriots’ practice squad in December 2014. He was on and off the Patriots’ roster and practice squad last...

The New England Patriots, in search of a third quarterback for the offseason workout program and training camp, hosted Ricky Stanzi on a free-agent visit Wednesday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Wednesday. Stanzi was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs out of Iowa. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. He hasn’t attempted a regular-season NFL pass. The Patriots have quarterbacks Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo on their current roster. They typically carry a third quarterback until the final cutdown period af...
Malcolm Butler Wants Extension With Patriots But Is Staying Patient
BROCKTON, Mass. — Malcolm Butler was met with raucous applause when he surprised West Middle School students Wednesday morning. Butler answered questions from a group of the Brockton middle schoolers who started a Kindness Club to prevent bullying at their school. Butler told the students about his experiences of being bullied and how to prevent it. “A speaker or a celebrity or giving someone advice, especially when people look up to you, it can change someone’s life,” Butler said after the event. “I can remember being in school, and a basketball player or football player came to our school. I wasn’t even talking to my friends, because I wa...
