Kevin Durant Seen In Wheelchair, Twitter Goes Crazy With Paul Pierce Jokes

Share this: Golden State Warriors star forward Kevin Durant will miss at least four weeks with a sprained MCL and a bone bruise on his left leg after center Zaza Pachulia fell into him during Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. Durant arrived back in Oakland in a wheelchair Wednesday, and KTVU had a helicopter waiting to film his return. Sure this is a disheartening image for Warriors and NBA fans alike, but Twitter managed to bring some levity to the situation by referencing the most notable wheelchair moment in NBA history, over and over again. And it was low hanging fruit in light of Paul Pierce’s recent war of words with Warriors forward Draymond Green. We’re sure everyone remembers Pierce leaving Game 1

Celtics Wrap: C’s Sink Clippers 107-102 In Paul Pierce’s Boston Finale

BOSTON — The Celtics gave Paul Pierce a fitting tribute Sunday afternoon, but they didn’t cut his team any slack between the whistles. Boston dispatched Los Angeles Clippers 107-102 in a wire-to-wire victory at TD Garden, sending Pierce off into the sunset with a loss in his final visit to the city before he retires at the end of the season. Isaiah Thomas (28 points, eight assists), led a balanced Celtics attack that put seven players — including all five starters — in double figures. Jamal Crawford and Blake Griffin paced the Clippers with 23 points each. Here’s how this one went down: STARTING FIVE

Paul Pierce On Final Trip To TD Garden: It’s Like ‘Saying Goodbye To The Game’

Share this: One day, the No. 34 likely will hang from the rafters at TD Garden. But on Sunday, Paul Pierce will wear that number at TD Garden for the last time ever in a regular-season game, although the No. 34 will be on the back of a Los Angeles Clippers jersey. It’s sure to be an emotional day inside the arena Pierce called home for the first 15 seasons of his surefire Hall of Fame career. “There’s no preparation for something like this,” Pierce told the media Saturday, via MassLive.com’s Jay King. “I know it’s going to be emotional. I don’t know what kind of emotion is going to come out, whether it’s a smile or a tear or what. It’s something that you

The red-hot Celtics also will play in a matinee contest against the Los Angeles Clippers in what will be Paul Pierce’s last regular-season game in Boston. Ever. Pierce played 15 seasons in Boston, and helped the Celtics win their 17th NBA championship in 2008. That’s something C’s fans never will forget. And while he hasn’t played for the home team at TD Garden since the 2012-13 season, his presence still is felt all throughout the building. “I think he’s highly respected here and around this league,” Celtics

Paul Pierce Talks L.A. Roots, ‘Irony’ Of Playing For Celtics In Retirement Video

Share this: Paul Pierce forever will be a part of Boston’s history, but his basketball journey started far, far away from the City of Champions. The Los Angeles Clippers forward, who announced in September he’s retiring after the 2016-17 season, spent 15 of his 19 NBA seasons with the Boston Celtics. But Pierce hails from Inglewood, Calif., roughly 3,000 miles from the Massachusetts capital. On Thursday, the 39-year-old released a video on The Players’ Tribune that gave a cool look into how Inglewood helped shape the man he is today. Pierce admits growing up a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, who actually played in Inglewood during their days at the old Forum. And yes, he fully realizes the irony of not only going to

Watch Paul Pierce Get CPR From Chris Paul After Hilarious Missed Dunk

Share this: Paul Pierce still has a bit of basketball left in him, even if he needs some help once in a while. Pierce, who is in the midst of his 19th and final season in the NBA, tried to slam home a dunk during the second quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers’ game against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, but he was fouled and missed. Seeing a teammate in need, Chris Paul went over to Pierce after the missed dunk and gave him some fake CPR. The Clippers sure are fun to watch this season, and they appear to be enjoying themselves, too. Thumbnail photo via Jayne Kamin-Oncea/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
