Jose Fernandez’s Recent Message To Fan Is Haunting After Tragic Death

Share this: Jose Fernandez, by all accounts, was as vibrant a personality off the field as he was on the mound. But for all his fame and bubbling stardom, he never took himself too seriously. That wasn’t any more evident than in the message he recently gave a Miami Marlins fan just days before the 24-year-old All-Star ace of the Miami Marlins was tragically killed in a boat crash around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. The photo comes from arguably the most famous Marlins fan there is, the Marlins Man. “Let’s never take ourselves too seriously,” Fernandez told Marlins Man last week, according to the caption on the photo, “it could all end tomorrow.” He also tweeted this just over a year ago. If that doesn’t give

Did Richard Jefferson Leak Cavaliers’ NBA Championship Ring Design On Snapchat?

Share this: Richard Jefferson just found out the power of the Internet. The Cleveland Cavaliers forward played 15 NBA seasons before winning his first championship three months ago, and the excitement of receiving his ring evidently became too much to bear Tuesday, when Jefferson posted this photo on Snapchat. Before Jefferson posted the pic, he sent the following message to his Snapchat followers: “I’ll show you guys something as long as you promise not to show anyone else.” According to USA TODAY’s For The Win, Jefferson deleted the photo of the ring only one hour later, after it quickly spread, then delivered this dig: “I knew you guys couldn’t be trusted,” followed by an upside-down smiley-face emoji. No one could confirm this actually

Did Tom Brady Stage Silent Protest Against NFL By Removing Helmet Decal?

Share this: Unless there was a sticker malfunction on Tom Brady’s helmet — maybe that’s what the scissors were for? — it appears TB12 staged a silent protest against the NFL prior to his four-game Deflategate suspension. As Twitter user @Pennzoil90 pointed out in a tweet at 98.5 The Sports Hub, it appears the NFL shield decal was missing from the Patriots quarterback’s helmet Thursday night during New England’s preseason game against the New York Giants. And this doesn’t appear to be a one time thing, either. If you look at this photo of Brady holding his helmet prior to New England’s third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, the spot where the decal usually is was empty. Coincidence? Probably not. Thumbnail photo via Noah K. Murray/USA TODAY

College Football Predictions: LSU, Clemson Among Alabama’s National Title Roadbl…

Share this: The Alabama Crimson Tide, much like the New England Patriots, have entered many seasons over the last decade as the favorites to be the last team standing as champions. That’s the case entering the 2016 college football season. The Crimson Tide are the favorites among many media members, fans and Las Vegas oddsmakers to win the College Football Playoff and claim back-to-back national championships. The Crimson Tide’s path to another title won’t be easy, though. The SEC schedule, as always, will be a tough challenge with games against ranked opponents such as LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC. Finn Balor Injured At SummerSlam, Forced To Relinquish WWE Universal Championshi…

Share this: Randy Orton wasn’t the only person injured at SummerSlam on Sunday night. The WWE Universe was enthralled over Finn Balor’s victory over Seth Rollins which made him the inaugural WWE Universal champion. But Balor actually was injured during the match, and now has to relinquish his championship belt just hours after winning it. There were rumors that Balor was injured overnight after a photo of him wearing a sling on his right arm popped up. But the WWE confirmed the injury Monday afternoon, even tweeting out video of when the injury occurred. It seemed that Balor dislocated his shoulder after being thrown into the boards by Rollins, but immediately popped it back in right on the ground before getting up and continuing

David Ortiz’s Extra Hustle Helps Him Tie Hank Aaron’s Doubles Record

Share this: David Ortiz isn’t exactly Usain Bolt, but the big fella can move when he puts his mind to it. Such was the case in the Ortiz’s first at-bat Monday night against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, when the Boston Red Sox slugger laced a hard line drive to dead center field off Rays starter Blake Snell. Kevin Kiermaier got the ball in quickly from center, meaning Ortiz had to hustle to get to second base — and he did just that. (Click the photo below to watch the video.) Big Papi’s slide certainly wasn’t pretty — and likely something Red Sox fans don’t want to see too much of — but it was effective nonetheless. That extra hustle also put him in
