Watch Celtics Rookie Jayson Tatum Hit Incredible Shot, Get Fouled Vs. Blazers
Share this: Jayson Tatum continues to amaze. The Boston Celtics rookie has dominated NBA Summer League action in Utah and Las Vegas, and we saw more evidence of it Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The No. 3 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft hit a very tough shot from the baseline in the first quarter, while also getting fouled. This shot adds to the list of impressive summer league moments for Tatum, one that includes a game-winner against the Philadelphia 76ers and an incredible fadeaway versus the Utah Jazz. Expectations for Tatum, which already were extremely high, have grown even higher with his summer league performances. Jayson Tatum’s Powerful One-Handed Dunk Should Excite Celtics Fans
Share this: Boston Celtics fans are going to enjoy watching Jayson Tatum in his rookie season. The No. 3 pick by the Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft made his summer league debut in Utah on Monday night, and he threw down a thunderous one-handed dunk in the second quarter. It was a good mix of the athleticism and scoring ability Tatum should add to the Celtics offense this coming season. Tatum and 2016 No. 3 overall draft pick Jaylen Brown combined to score 26 first-half points as the C’s and Philadelphia 76ers were tied 44-44 at halftime of Monday’s matchup. Could Celtics Use These Josh Jackson Rumors To Land Star At NBA Draft?
Share this: In theory, the No. 1 overall pick is more valuable than the No. 3 selection, hence why the Philadelphia 76ers relinquished a first-round pick in next year’s NBA draft to move up two spots earlier this week. That said, the Boston Celtics, who traded down from No. 1 to No. 3 in the aforementioned deal, still sit in an enviable position, especially given some rumors surrounding Kansas’ Josh Jackson, who could be the best player available on many draft boards Thursday night if Washington’s Markelle Fultz and UCLA’s Lonzo Ball go first and second, respectively, as expected. First, consider this report Thursday morning from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports’ The Vertical: Tremendous appetite around the NBA to trade into the Top 4
Jayson Tatum Would Be Celtics’ Top Draft Pick, If Jeff Van Gundy Had A Say
Share this: It appears the Boston Celtics weren’t the only ones wanting to go another direction with the No. 1 overall draft pick. Jeff Van Gundy, the ESPN analyst and former NBA coach, said two weeks ago during the NBA Finals that the Celtics should draft Duke forward Jayson Tatum over Washington guard Markelle Fultz. “Well, it seems like there’s a lot of different opinions, (but) I don’t think (Celtics president of basketball operations) Danny Ainge is going to be swayed by anybody else’s opinion,” Van Gundy told “Pillow Talk Show” host Max Berkowitz in San Francisco, for an episode that will premiere Tuesday on NESN.com. “I think he’s going to evaluate (it) himself. I like Jayson Tatum. … I love Jayson Tatum.” While
