After toiling on the free agent market for more than two months, the 30-year-old running back on Wednesday agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal is worth up to $2.8 million, sources told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. The Arizona Cardinals “also showed mild interest” in the veteran back, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Blount carried the ball 299 times for 1,161 yards and an NFL-best 18 touchdowns for the New England Patriots last season, setting career highs in all three categories. The Patriots chose not to re-sign Blount this offseason, instead bringing in running backs Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee,

Magic Johnson On Celtics Winning NBA Draft Lottery: ‘I Still Hate Them’
Share this: The best rivalry in basketball is between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, and that feud continued off the court Tuesday night at the 2017 NBA Draft Lottery. The Celtics were the luckier team as they won the draft lottery, earning the No. 1 pick in June’s draft. The Lakers, who would’ve been forced to give their pick to the Philadelphia 76ers if it landed outside the top three, were fortunate to get the No. 2 pick. New Lakers president Magic Johnson was asked about his rivals winning the top pick, and he gave a predictable response. Boston Fans Should Like Celtics’ Chances Of Winning NBA Draft Lottery
Share this: The NBA Draft Lottery is Tuesday night, and the Boston Celtics have the best chance to end up with the number one pick. Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck will represent Boston at the NBA Draft lottery, and is the only owner representing their team. The Celtics will not have a pick lower than number four, and they have a pretty good chance of landing the first overall pick. Tender Patriots Placed On LeGarrette Blount Hadn’t Been Used For A Long Time
Share this: When word broke last week that the New England Patriots used an unrestricted free agent tender on running back LeGarrette Blount, the option was widely described as “rarely-used.” That might not have done the infrequency justice. The unrestricted free agent tender, or May 9 tender, hadn’t been used since 2000, Peter Schrager reported on NFL Media’s “Good Morning Football.” Twitter user Bryan Brackney says the tender, which formerly was known as the June 1 tender, last was used on Seattle Seahawks guard Frank Beede on June 1, 2000. The tender is a one-year deal worth $1.1 million, or 110 percent of Blount’s 2016 salary. If Blount signs with a team before July 22, the tender means he counts against against that team’s and towards the Patriots’
Which Patriots Draft Pick Has Best Chance To Make Immediate Impact?
The New England Patriots weren’t very active in the 2017 NFL Draft, as they only made four selections. But you might not have to wait very long to see the players they did draft make an impact on the gridiron, including their first pick, defensive end Derek Rivers. Hear what NESN.com Patriots beat reporter Doug Kyed told Emerson Lotzia about Rivers and more in the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. ... NESN.com
Internet Thinks LeBron James Is Trolling Lonzo Ball’s Odd Shooting Motion
Share this: We see what you (probably) did there, LeBron James. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar made a slight alteration to his pregame warmup Thursday before the Cavs’ matchup with the Chicago Bulls, and the internet thinks it might be a not-so-subtle message to the Ball family by seemingly mocking UCLA point guard and potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft Lonzo Ball’s unorthodox shooting motion. You be the judge. James and the Balls have a history, as the outspoken LaVar Ball mentioned James’ kids in one of his many outlandish statements. James, understandably, wasn’t a fan of what LaVar said, but that didn’t seem to faze the elder Ball. So it doesn’t feel like a stretch for the internet to come to this conclusion. Thumbnail
NFL Rumors: Browns Taking QB With No. 1 Pick Would Be ‘Major Shock’
All eyes will be on the Cleveland Browns at the 2017 NFL Draft. There’s no way they screw it up, right? The Browns, of course, have this year’s No. 1 overall pick. And while Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett is the consensus top player on draft boards, it’s been rumored that Cleveland is “strongly considering” taking quarterback Mitch(ell) Trubisky to fill a dire need at QB. But the Browns drew some attention Sunday by tweeting out a video of Garrett’s impressive 4.64-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter used the opportunity to throw cold water on the Trubisky-to-Cleveland rumors.
