After 25 seasons, Francesco Totti made his 786th and final appearance for home-town club Roma on Sunday. Here's what we found ...CriteriaPlayers must have spent their entire senior career with the same club, and must never have played for another team – even on loan. We looked at the top eight leagues according to the UEFA coefficients. Spain: Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona)Seasons: 15, competitive appearances: 624... UEFA.com - News

NFLPA Tells Incoming Rookies To Be Like Rob Gronkowski, And Here’s Why
Share this: When it comes to branding, Rob Gronkowski knows what he’s doing. The New England Patriots tight end obviously is a star on the football field, but he’s also one off it with the way he markets himself. And that’s a lesson the NFL Players Association hopes other players will learn from, especially rookies. The NFLPA recently held the Player Premiere in Los Angeles, where rookies received advice from former NFL players about how to build their brand. And Gronk was used as one of the top examples. “Some people think he’s just this extension of a frat boy, and that it’s sort of accidental,” NFL Players Inc. president Ahmad Nassar said, via The Boston Glove Ben Volin. “And that’s wrong. It’s not accidental,
How Rookies Derek Rivers, Deatrich Wise Are Acclimating To Patriots’ Defense
Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots only picked four players in the 2017 NFL Draft, and defensive line coach Brendan Daly is coaching two of them. The Patriots selected pass rushers Derek Rivers and Deatrich Wise 83rd and 131st overall, respectively. Daly talked about their progress after rookie minicamp and one week of organized team activities. “Two young guys that have done a nice job,” Daly said Thursday. “They’ve kept their mouth shut. They’ve tried to absorb everything they can, and they’re taking it day to day hoping that each day we can stack a little bit bigger step than where we were the previous day. Each day, try to push the bar further a little bit. We’re not necessarily trying
Julian Edelman Uses Taylor Swift Reference In Response To NFL Top 100 Ranking
Share this: New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman recently was ranked No. 71 on NFL Network’s NFL Top 100 ranking of the best players in football. Given the veteran wideout’s stellar regular season and playoff performances — including many clutch plays during the Patriots’ wins in Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI — his ranking seemed a little too low. Edelman talked about it with Deion Sanders in a recent appearance on NFL Network, and he referenced famous Taylor Swift song “Shake It Off” when asked if he should’ve been placed higher on the list. “I think, what is it, Taylor Swift? Haters gonna hate, players gonna play, I just gotta shake it off, just gotta shake it off. We’re going for 2017 now,” Edelman said with
NFLPA Files Grievance Against NFL Alleging Overprescription Of Painkillers
Share this: The NFL Players Association filed a grievance against the NFL on Monday, and it doesn’t look too good for the league. The NFLPA is alleging the NFL violated the collective bargaining agreement by knowing teams were improperly dispensing painkillers to players but failing to do anything about it. The grievance states “the NFL and clubs have ‘disregarded … explicit CBA requirements as they apply to the proper, legal, medically ethical prescription, dispensing, and transportation of prescription painkillers.’” The Players Association says it warned the NFL about these violations — which range from not informing players about the risks of mixing pills to overprescribing them — in April, and the league didn’t respond in a timely manner. The grievance came after it
Isaiah Thomas, John Wall Both Know Celtics, Wizards Don’t Like Each Other
The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards clearly don’t like each other. The two teams exchanged unpleasantries throughout the regular season, and the rivalry has boiled over into their Eastern Conference semifinals series. While the first two games at TD Garden were physical, they didn’t hold a candle to Game 3 at the Verizon Center on Thursday night. Three players were ejected from the contest, which Washington ultimately won 116-89. Kelly Oubre Jr. was the first player tossed from the game after he viciously shoved Kelly Olynyk in the second quarter. Terry Rozier and Brandon Jennings followed suit in the fourth quarter, as both players wer... NESN.com
