David Backes Could Return To Bruins’ Lineup Saturday Vs. Predators
The Boston Bruins have been hit with the injury bug early in the 2018-19 season. Boston placed defenseman Charlie McAvoy on injured reserve with an upper-body injury Oct. 30, and they have been without winger David Backes since he was hit by in the head by Edmonton Oilers defenseman Matt Benning on Oct. 18. Backes has battled concussions throughout his career and he spoke with the media Thursday about what the NHL leads to continue to do to protect its players. Bruins’ Defense Creating Offensive Opportunities Vs. Predators
The Boston Bruins need all hands on deck Monday against the Nashville Predators, and the B’s defense certainly did its part during the first period. Boston’s defense was aggressive early at Bridgestone Arena which led to multiple offensive chances for the Bruins. Sharks Turn Predators Into Prey, Eliminate Nashville In Game 7 Blowout
The beards are coming. Joe Thornton, Logan Couture and the San Jose Sharks advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2011 with a 5-0 Game 7 shutout of the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. Five different Sharks scored goals on the evening. Logan Couture finished with a game-high three points on a goal and two assists, while Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau each had a goal and an assist apiece.
