Share this: Driverless race cars aren’t yet faster than actual racing drivers, but they’re still fast enough to make you a feel uneasy while riding along in one. Roborace tweeted a video Wednesday that features onboard footage from its development car, Devbot, during a flying lap of the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit. The lap was filmed either June 9 or 10, during race weekend for the Formula E Berlin ePrix. Devbot lapped the 10-turn, 1.398-mile circuit in roughly 1 minute, 40 seconds, which might not sound quick. But considering Devbot was nothing more than an idea roughly a year ago. You asked for it and here it is. ➡️ Video of our Development car, Devbot, running an autonomous full lap in Berlin. Enjoy.

Points and progress for McPhee in the Catalan GP
John McPhee, P12: "It was a good start and good first few laps, I did everything I needed to but then I got into a fight with a couple of other riders. I could get the laptime I needed to stay with the front group, but as soon as I got put off line or made a mistake, I didn't have the pace to push past my limit to get back on the group. Normally you ride at 100% but if you need 105% you can chance your luck for a couple of laps...but I was riding the whole race chancing my luck and didn't have anything else in the bag. We made a small change on the bike from
F1 Driver Fernando Alonso Not Ruling Out Full-Time IndyCar Campaign
Share this: As Fernando Alonso prepares to make the next move in his career once his contract with McLaren-Honda expires, he apparently isn’t taking any option off the table. Alonso repeatedly has said his goal is to find a drive with a Formula One team that will be capable of fighting for the championship. However, he apparently isn’t ruling out a full-time drive in IndyCar, according to ESPN. The Spaniard was asked during the broadcast of Saturday’s IndyCar race at Texas Motor Speedway whether he would jump ship to race an entire season in the American open-wheel series, and he seemed open to the idea. “Why not?” Alonso said, via ESPN. “I mean, I’m very open to anything. I don’t have a clear answer
Marquez says "feeling more consistent" with new tyre
Marc Marquez: "We were preparing to leave for Montmeló for a one-day test last week when we received the terrible news of Nicky’s passing. He was a great rider and an incredible person. I remember once, when I was a kid of 15 at the very beginning of my career in the world championship and he was the MotoGP World Champion: We took part in an event together and my English was very poor, so he tried to speak Spanish and he was very funny and easy-going, treating me as if I was his little brother. And then we shared the garage last year in Australia and had a great party together after the race. Like his amazing family, he
Vermont Governor’s Season Racing Debut Goes Off Track, Ends In Ditch
Share this: Phill Scott’s race for Vermont governor ended in victory lane. His season racing debut at Thunder Road International SpeedBowl, though, ended in a ditch. With just a few laps to go in the 55th Memorial Day Classic in Barre, Vt., Scott’s No. 14 Late Model stock car was bumped by another car, then scraped the wall and went off track, WCAX-TV reports. The Vermont governor actually was running P2 at the time of the wreck, which ended his day. [embedded content] He reportedly wasn’t injured in the crash, which banged up what was a pretty good looking car. Scott is the United States’ only sitting governor to race stock cars, according to WCAX-TV. More Stories Source link
Result Aside, Fernando Alonso’s Indy 500 Journey Was Resounding Success
Share this: Some people likely assume Fernando Alonso’s first Indianapolis 500 was a failure, as he didn’t see the checkered flag. However, those individuals aren’t taking into consideration what his goals for the race actually were. When Alonso announced he would race in the Indy 500, he made it clear he intended to show he can compete with the best drivers, in one of the best series, on one of the best tracks in the world. And in that respect, his race went better than he could’ve hoped. After a relatively cautious start to the 500-mile event, Alonso quickly began working is way to the front of the field. Although nobody doubts the Spaniard’s talents as a driver, given Sunday marked his oval racing debut, his charge
Leon Orgis and Tim Georgi fastest at Donington Park
"Overall, things went quite well today. The practice session wasn't bad either. In qualifying, though, we unfortunately had a defective rear tyre, which meant I wasn't able to push as hard as I had intended. Even so, we find ourselves first on the grid, so I can hardly complain. I am happy about that. The track is quite interesting, especially the first two sectors, because it's very fast there. The surface is not outstanding, as it's quite bumpy, but at the end of the day, the conditions are the same for everyone. In tomorrow's race, I hope that Walid and I leave the rest behind, just like we did at Oschersleben. We'll then see what happens in the race. It
