Share this: The Cicuit de Monaco has more or less remained the same since it first hosted a race in 1929. But one small change made ahead of the 2017 Formula One Monaco Grand Prix has Haas F1 Team driver Romain Grosjean concerned. Grosjean, director of the Grand Prix Drivers Association, said he’s worried new curbs at the swimming pool chicane could cause more drivers to end up in the wall, according to Motorsport.com. Many drivers have expressed concerns over new curbing along the wall on exit, but Grosjean is more concerned with the first part of the chicane. Larger yellow speed bumps have been placed inside the first turn to slow cars down, by preventing drivers from excessively cutting the corner. “It looks like a taking

Words of a Champion: Nicky Hayden on…
NH69: “Well, for sure, in Portugal, that moment in the gravel trap, that thought of being World Champion just slipped through my hands. You never know how many times you’re going to be in that opportunity in life, but I gathered myself up, and after the race, maybe one hour after, I started to think of only Valencia. I looked at the points and realised I still had a chance. I know Valencia is a small track, many guys go fast there—maybe it’s not the best track for Valentino at that time. And I somehow, as crazy as it sounds—people ask me now—from about an hour after that race, I always believed I was still going to be World Champion.
Watch Kyle Busch’s Million-Dollar Moment From NASCAR’s All-Star Race
Share this: Kyle Busch still hasn’t taken a checkered flag in a points race this season. But even though his victory in Saturday’s NASCAR All-Star Race won’t bring him any closer to the playoffs, he’s probably celebrating like he did. That’s because in visiting victory lane for the first time in 2017, Busch earned himself a cool $1 million. After qualifying for a spot among nine other drivers in the race’s final 10-lap shootout, Busch, as he’s done so often, used an impressive jump off the restart to claim a lead he never relinquished. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver then parked his No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry and celebrated as he usually does, except this time with a hefty check. We don’t want to take
Baz: “Le Mans is a track that should suit us better”
Loris Baz: “Home GPs are always something very special, and it’s always exciting to race in front of the people who come to this race because it’s something very special. There are also a lot of different things happening and distractions throughout the weekend and all my sponsors will be in Le Mans – so it’s important to be well-organised to be able to focus well on the race. The circuit has been resurfaced, so that will change things a lot, too. Jerez wasn’t great but Le Mans is a circuit that could suit us better, because there are hard braking areas and that’s one of my strong points with this bike. So I hope I can have a good
Morbidelli: “I decided to push all the way to the finish”
Franco Morbidelli, P1: “It’s an amazing start to the season. This is a great moment for me and the team, we are in fantastic shape for the Championship and I hope we can continue in this way. It was a nice battle with Álex early and then I tried pulling away and got a 1.5s gap and thought to just control the race. But I messed around too much and then I saw 0.5s to Lüthi so I decided to push all the way to the finish. I forgot about trying to control the race and just went for the win.” Source link
Viñales: “I thought I was on pole!”
Maverick Viñales, P2: “When I saw the time I thought I was on pole because it was an incredible time compared to what we did in FP3 and FP4, but Marc did a really good lap and congratulations because it was an incredible lap. But I’m happy! Tomorrow we have to improve some things but I think we are quite ready. I hope I can battle and I can stay there at the end - we’ve been working really hard through the weekend on the last laps of the race. Today I got 100% from the Yamaha so we’ll take the positive points, and tomorrow we’ll try and work on the negative ones.” Source link
#AmericasGP: Michelin preview
Piero Taramasso, Manager of the Two-Wheel Motorsport Group: “COTA is another very demanding circuit and features many changes of direction, slow turns, fast bends and a long straight. There are also hard braking areas and all this together makes for a big challenge for a tyre to cope with. The riders are always demanding the very best and that is always our target- to be able to give the optimum tyre for all riders and bikes to use. We were unable to produce the very good performance that we had hoped for in 2016, but this season we are going there fully prepared – thanks to data we got after last year’s race – and with a range of rubber
