This will mark the American rallycross series’ first event in New England since it last hosted a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2013. “New England is traditionally one of rally’s most prominent regions in the United States,” Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne said in a statement. “We’re greatly looking forward to our debut event at Thompson Speedway, a track well-known for treating

If Daytona 500 Was Any Evidence, It Could Be Long NASCAR Season
Share this: After an action-packed Daytona 500, we can’t help but wondering what the heck is going on. Kurt Busch took his first 500 victory during Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, but finishing the race at all arguably was just as impressive a feat. When Busch crossed the finish line, there were just 25 cars, and hardly any of NASCAR’s big-ticket drivers, remaining on track. Veterans such as Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Danica Patrick, Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski, all of whom were running well at the time, were taken out in one of the several big wrecks. For many NASCAR fans, the Daytona 500 probably felt like déjà vu, as Saturday’s Xfinity Series race had an even higher attrition
Aragon: Marquez reigns, Lorenzo gains
Although it hadn’t seemed like it, the controlled exterior of Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was taking some effort – with MotorLand Aragon proving the mental oasis after a long run of races with no dry win. Knowing he had the pace and that the track was perfectly suited to him, Marquez even said in the pre-event Press Conference that MotorLand was a track on which he would attack, and attack he did. McPhee: “I’m excited to come home!”
JM17: “It’s been a difficult year. The bike was new to me and new to the team so we had a lot of learning to do. I think three or four races in we made a step forward and we weren’t in such a tricky position like we thought we were in Qatar. Then come the midway point…obviously the win in Brno was a good achievement, for Peugeot, for me and for the team – because that was something we didn’t think was going to be achievable this year. From then on everything seemed to click a bit better. In Phillip Island we were strong from the start, and I think we could have fought for the podium.” Source link
Smith’s return from injury “much better” than expected
Bradley Smith (P14): "I have to start by saying that the three back to back races have been fantastic and I am more than satisfied with the results. To come back from my injury and score three point scoring finishes is much better than what I was expecting. If we look at the bigger picture, the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team did a superb job as well as the Clinica Mobile medical staff who made sure that I could compete in every session. In terms of the race, it certainly was tough due to the conditions but we have to be content with another finish in the points, even if we were hoping for more. I decided to risk using the
Rossi: “On paper we are strong”
Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) has been at the forefront in most races in the ever-changing 2016 season, and looks ahead to the upcoming flyaway stint ready to show those credentials once again. With a good record at the Twin Ring Motegi – the venue to kick off the three back-to-back races near the tail end of the season – the legendary Italian also relishes the chance to race at manufacturer Yamaha’s home venue, in Japan. In good shape and readying for a final stand again Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez, Rossi will be looking to kick off MotoGP™’s 2016 Asian adventure with another victory – his third of the year – as he faces down Marquez in the Championship
Moto2™ goes down to the wire: Rins vs Zarco (vs Lowes)
Zarco has five wins, Rins two, but their podium count is the same. The Ajo Motorsport rider went on an incredible winning spree throughout four of the fives races from the Catalan GP onwards, and after his win in the Austrian GP, was 34 points clear at the top of the Championship – but then the dominoes began to fall. Brno saw the Frenchman on pole in the dry, and then struggling on race day in difficult conditions – giving Rins and Lowes an opportunity that neither missed. With Zarco crossing the line in P11, Rins and Lowes laid enough on the line to take necessary risks – but not too many, locking out the podium in P2 and P3
