Tom Brady and the New England Patriots had reason to celebrate Sunday, as they clinched their eighth straight AFC East title with a 16-3 win over the Denver Broncos. Brady only threw for 188-yards, but the defense carried the day, forcing three turnovers and sacking quarterback Trevor Siemian four times. As has become custom after every Patriots’ win this season, Tom Brady released the latest edition of the “TB Times” on Facebook after the game. The post shows Brady taming a horse, which is fitting as the Patriots’ offensive line was able to tame the Broncos’ pass rush, something they were unable to do in the 2016 AFC Championship Ga... Bruins Struggling To Score Goals Ahead Of Matchup Vs. Canadiens
The Boston Bruins have a struggling offense, and it’s the main reason for their 3-game skid. Boston has scored just six goals combined in the last three games, and it ranks 26th in the NHL in goals scored per game and 27th in power-play percentage. The B’s must find a way to score goals soon, especially with a matchup against the rival Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Monday night. Check out the video above for a report from Sunday’s Bruins practice, as seen on “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. ... NESN.com
Stewart sparks US pile-up
“Tainted” is how Eric Wynalda now describes USA’s 2-1 win over Colombia at the 1994 FIFA World Cup™. What should have been a joyful celebration of football taking root in the States has, as the US stalwart’s description acknowledges, become synonymous instead with the fateful own goal and subsequent murder of Andres Escobar. “As a team, we were very hesitant to talk about that game for that reason,” admitted Wynalda. “We didn’t want to dishonour him.”However, while the Escobar tragedy put football firmly in perspective, it should still be reflected that this match was a momentous milestone on the road to America embracing the beautiful game. Rick Porcello Sets Manny Machado’s Record Straight After Hit By Pitch
Share this: Rick Porcello didn’t make many mistakes Monday night, but Manny Machado clearly didn’t like one of them. Porcello pitched a brilliant outing for the Boston Red Sox, throwing just 89 pitches over nine innings to lead his team to a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The right-hander was highly efficient, walking no one while striking out seven. He temporarily lost control in the fourth inning, though, hitting Machado in the shoulder with an 0-1 fastball. Porcello had no reason to throw at Machado, but the Orioles third baseman surprisingly took offense, glaring at the Red Sox pitcher before jawing at him as he made his way down to first base. Porcello understandably was perplexed by Machado’s reaction. After
Is Stephen Curry The Reason For Ray Allen’s Possible NBA Comeback?
Share this: Ray Allen is considering an NBA comeback at age 41. But why? Allen made more than $184 million in salary alone during his 18 NBA seasons. He won two NBA titles, walked away with a Hall of Fame-worthy résumé and hasn’t played since the 2013-14 campaign. Perhaps it’s just the itch some athletes get, and it’ll go away at some point, scratched or unscratched. Or perhaps his desire to explore a return stems from wanting to pad his stats. Allen holds the NBA’s all-time record for 3-point field goals with 2,973. There isn’t anyone nipping at his heels, but that might not be the case for long, especially if Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry continues to drain buckets at an amazing clip. Curry
