Red Sox’s Outfield Victory Dances Will Be Featured In ‘MLB The Show 17’

Share this: Dancing and the Red Sox’s outfield went hand in hand following a 2016 Boston win, and that trend will continue in the video game world, too. A new trailer for “MLB The Show 17” was released Saturday, and the “Retro Mode” has been getting much of the attention. However, Red Sox fans will be happy to know that Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi all were featured, too, with their victory celebration. What Game 3 Rainout Means For Red Sox’s Rotation, Bullpen In ALDS

Share this: BOSTON — The Red Sox’s season lives to see at least another day. Game 3 of the American League Division Series between the Red Sox and Cleveland Indians at Fenway Park was postponed Sunday due to rain, pushing the contest to Monday at 6:08 p.m. ET. Playoff rainouts can have a big impact on pitching availability, especially in a five-game series. But in the case of the Red Sox and Indians, not much will change in Game 3: Both managers confirmed Sunday that Boston’s Clay Buchholz and Cleveland’s Josh Tomlin still are set to start Monday. The Red Sox, of course, face a do-or-die situation trailing the series 0-2, and Sunday’s rainout will help give a breather to a bullpen that employed six pitchers

Red Sox Notes: Boston’s Offense Gets Fooled By Cleveland’s Pitching In ALDS Game 1

The Boston Red Sox’s strong suit going into the playoffs was their offense, but that’s not how it worked out Thursday. The Red Sox dropped Game 1 of their American League Division Series against the Cleveland Indians 5-4, partly because of a lackluster performance from starter Rick Porcello, who gave up three solo home runs in the third inning. However, the offense really didn’t do Porcello any favors. The Red Sox were swinging at everything and especially had trouble with breaking balls. The Indians’ pitching staff generated a whopping 28 swing-and-misses, and 18 of them were on breaking pitches. Eleven of the Red Sox’s 14 strikeouts were swi... NESN.com

Red Sox Notes: John Farrell Makes Some Roster Decisions Ahead Of Postseason

Share this: BOSTON — The Red Sox officially are in postseason mode after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, which means there are roster moves to make. Major League Baseball’s playoff teams have to shrink their rosters from 40 back to the usual 25 now that September is over, so Red Sox manager John Farrell has some work to do before his team heads to Cleveland on Thursday for Game 1 of their American League Division Series against the Indians. But luckily for the skipper, he’s already started. “There’s been three players that have been notified they will not be with us,” Farrell said prior to Sunday’s game. “(Starter) Henry Owens and (infielder) Deven Marrero will report to Fort Myers, (Fla.,

MLB Postseason Picture: Indians Move Back Into No. 2 Spot; Wild-Card Races Tight…

Share this: The Major League Baseball postseason picture has a few noticeable changes after an interesting slate of game Saturday. The Red Sox’s loss and the Indians’ win means Cleveland currently holds the No. 2 seed and has home-field advantage for its American League Division Series matchup with Boston. The Red Sox still could sneak back into the No. 2 spot, though. As for the wild card, the Toronto Blue Jays moved back into the first slot thanks to their win over the Red Sox and the Orioles’ loss to the New York Yankees. Baltimore still has the second wild-card spot, but the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners haven’t been mathematically eliminated as of 12:39 a.m. ET on Sunday. The wild-card race in the
