The New England Patriots, in search of a third quarterback for the offseason workout program and training camp, hosted Ricky Stanzi on a free-agent visit Wednesday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Wednesday. Stanzi was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs out of Iowa. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. He hasn’t attempted a regular-season NFL pass. The Patriots have quarterbacks Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo on their current roster. They typically carry a third quarterback until the final cutdown period af...

Report: Heat Forward Chris Bosh Dealing With Potential Blood-Clot Scare
MIAMI — A person with knowledge of the situation says Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is dealing with another blood-clot scare and will meet with doctors this week with hopes of finding a way to continue playing this season. Bosh will spend “the next few days” reviewing his options, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on Monday on condition of anonymity because the Heat has not revealed the matter publicly. It’s a very similar situation to what Bosh faced over the All-Star break a year ago, when a blood clot was found on his lung and sidelined him for the rest of the season. The difference in this case
Report: Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney Out Vs. Chiefs With Foot Injury
The Houston Texans enter Saturday’s AFC Wild Card playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs as the underdogs, and that was before they learned defensive end Jadeveon Clowney wouldn’t play because of a foot injury. Clowney has often dealt with injuries since being selected by Houston with the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. When Clowney has been healthy, him and reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt have formed a great pass-rushing duo. Clowney played in 13 regular-season games and tallied 40 tackles with 4.5 sacks. Thumbnail photo via Troy Taormina/USA TODAY Sports Images ...
Report: Greg Hardy’s ‘Constant Tardiness’ Annoyed Teammates By End Of Season
Greg Hardy’s first season with the Dallas Cowboys could ultimately be his last, as his production didn’t necessarily make up for reported issues. Hardy signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys last March, and while he showed signs of being an impact player after serving a four-game suspension to start the year, there were issues both reported and otherwise throughout the season. The Cowboys missed the playoffs, and Hardy is now a free agent, and a SportsDay report lays out a few reasons why the Cowboys might not commit long term to Hardy. According to SportsDay’s Brandon George, Hardy was a “constant headache” for Dallas head coach J...
Report: Tom Brady Suffered Sprained Ankle, Expected To Be Ready For Playoffs
Tom Brady’s ankle injury seems to be a classic case of “It looked a lot worse than it was.” The New England Patriots quarterback was hobbled Sunday after having his right ankle rolled under Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, but the injury isn’t serious. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that an MRI revealed Brady suffered a sprained ankle but there were no breaks or fractures. According to Schefter, Brady should be good to go when the Patriots begin their playoffs schedule on Jan. 16 in the AFC divisional round. Brady, who was seen limping after the Patriots’ loss in Miami, told reporters in his postgame news conference t...
Report: People Around NBA Believe Kevin Durant Could Sign With Warriors
Would Kevin Durant trade in his blue and orange for blue and gold? Apparently some people around the NBA believe the Oklahoma City Thunder’s impending free agent could depart to sign with reigning MVP Stephen Curry and the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors this summer, according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard. Broussard warns that everything is speculative and that nothing is leaking out of Durant’s camp, but rather that people around the league wouldn’t be shocked to see it happen — though the general public might be. Financially, Pro Basketball Talk’s Dan Feldman lays out the basics of how it could work, and it’s really not ...
Report: Sting Suffered ‘Significant’ Neck Injury At WWE ‘Night Of Champions’
One of the best professional wrestlers of all time might have seen his career come to an end Sunday night. Sting, who is 56 years old, was injured in the main event versus Seth Rollins at WWE’s “Night Of Champions” pay-per-view. According to the Pro Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the injury is considered to be “significant.” The injury is a reported neck injury, which obviously is nothing to take lightly. It’s thought that the injury occurred when Rollins power-bombed Sting into one of the turnbuckles. However, Sting also took a huge bump earlier in the match when he was dropped through one of the announce tables. The match actu...
