Kyle Larson received a brutal reminder of that Wednesday in Las Vegas. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver was set to take part in a live Q&A on Wednesday. Beforehand, however, Larson’s buddy, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., made him the butt of his joke by pulling his chair out from under him. Was it juvenile? Perhaps. Do we care? Not even a little. Kyle Larson was one of a handful of drivers vying for the lead of Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway, but his day quickly came to an end after a small misstep. Larson was on the back straight with eight laps remaining in the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola and moved to the outside as he approached Turn 3. He hadn’t completely cleared Ricky Stenhouse Jr., though, so the two touched, ultimately sending Larson’s No. 42 over the hood of Stenhouse’s No. 17. The New England Patriots, in search of a third quarterback for the offseason workout program and training camp, hosted Ricky Stanzi on a free-agent visit Wednesday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Wednesday. Stanzi was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs out of Iowa. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. He hasn’t attempted a regular-season NFL pass.
