Could Rajon Rondo Play In Game 5? Chris Mannix Not Ruling Bulls Guard Out

The Chicago Bulls’ success in their first-round NBA playoff series has hinged almost exclusively on Rajon Rondo. And while Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg already stated Rondo won’t play in Wednesday’s crucial Game 5 against the Boston Celtics as he heals from a fractured thumb, others aren’t ruling out his early return. During an appearance Tuesday on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich,” Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Mannix cited sources in saying Rondo might be a game-time decision Wednesday at TD Garden. “I don’t think its a foregone conclusion that he doesn’t play (Wednesday) night,” Mannix said, via CBS Boston. “I know Fred... Rajon Rondo Looking For ‘Last Stop’ With Next Contract In Free Agency

Rajon Rondo is done being a nomad. Rondo will hit free agency again this summer after spending the 2015-16 season with the Sacramento Kings. The 30-year-old isn’t sure where he’ll land, but it’s clear he wants to settle down upon signing his next contract. “I want to make this — whatever I do — my last stop,” Rondo told the New York Post on Sunday. Rondo spent his first eight-plus seasons with the Boston Celtics, who traded the four-time All-Star to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2014. The polarizing point guard hit the open market last offseason after finishing his 2014-15 campaign with the Mavs, but...

Former King Isaiah Thomas Trolls Sacramento After Rajon Rondo Signing

Isaiah Thomas has been there before. The Boston Celtics point guard was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2011, but their breakup wasn’t exactly amicable. So when the Kings reportedly inked former Celtic Rajon Rondo to a one-year, $ 9.5 million contract Friday, leaving starting point guard Darren Collison in the dust, Thomas took a jab at the team on Twitter. While Thomas’ situation in Sacramento didn’t play out exactly like Collison’s, it wasn’t much better. Thomas became a free agent after the 2013-14 season, during which he enjoyed a career year with 6.3 assists and 20.3 points per game. Despite that (and the fact that Sacramento went 28-5...

Report: Celtics Offered Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green for Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Perkins After Last Season

by Mike Cole on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 11:59PM   How's this for weird? ESPN's Chris Broussard tweeted an interesting failed trade proposal that Celtics president Danny Ainge reportedly offered the Oklahoma City Thunder after last season. According to Broussard, the C's offered the Thunder point guard Rajon Rondo and forward Jeff Green in exchange for point guard Russell Westbrook and center Kendrick Perkins. Trading Rondo, one of the franchise's cornerstones would raise eyebrows as it is. However, the fact that this trade would bring Perkins, who was traded at the deadline in a deal that brought Green to Boston, is the real eye-opener in this scenario. Alas, Oklahoma City was not interested in Ainge's proposal. Rondo has been the subject of plenty of
