Conor McGregor Hits Back At Floyd Mayweather Jr. With Hilarious Tweet

Share this: Another day, another ridiculous amount of rumors surrounding that potential Floyd Mayweather Jr./Conor McGregor superfight. Tuesday started with the bombshell report that the two fighters finally had agreed to a deal, but Mayweather put cold water on the rumor with a tweet, in which he called himself “happily retired.” You knew somehow, someway McGregor would respond, and he also chose Twitter for his latest jab in the ongoing war of words between the two fighters. So maybe we aren’t closer to that dream superfight after all? But if it ever does happen, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett told Mike Coppinger of USA TODAY Sports “that’s certainly a fight that we would approve and have in Vegas.” Thumbnail photo Per Haljestam/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

MLB Rumors: Reds Agree To Trade Brandon Phillips To Braves; Return ‘Minimal’

Brandon Phillips appears to be packing his bags after more than a decade in Cincinnati. The Reds have agreed to trade their longtime second baseman to the Atlanta Braves, ESPN.com’s Buster Olney reported Sunday, citing a source. It’s unclear what Cincinnati will acquire in return, but FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal doesn’t expect it to be much. Rosenthal was the first to report the teams were close to a deal for Phillips, which is expected to be finalized Monday, per Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Phillips was a staple of the Reds’ infield for 11 seasons, earning three All-Star nods over that span as one of Cincinnati’s most dependable ... NESN.com

Angry Chargers Fans React To San Diego Exit By Throwing Around Apparel

Share this: Fans in San Diego are going off the deep end. The Chargers are moving to Los Angeles next season after spending 56 years in San Diego. It’s a move that isn’t all that surprising given the rumors that have circulated over the past year, but the actual exit was abrupt and fans stationed in the now-former home of the Bolts are furious, to say the least. While several Chargers supporters — or ex-supporters, in some instances — took to social media to express their displeasure with the organization’s relocation, others descended upon the team facility to ditch their merchandise and voice their frustration. Well, at least they still have the Padres … OK, maybe that’s not the best way to soften the

MLB Rumors: Edwin Encarnacion Has Six Multi-Year Offers To Consider

Edwin Encarnacion still hasn’t inked a new deal, but the free-agent slugger apparently has a few options on the table. Paul Kinzer, Encarnacion’s agent, gave an update on where the first baseman/designated hitter’s search for a new team is Wednesday during an appearance with Jeff Blair on Sportsnet590 The FAN. And while Kinzer didn’t say which teams are interested in his client, he did relay this interesting nugget: Reports have indicated that the Toronto Blue Jays are trying to bring Encarnacion back, but Kinzer added in the same interview that he “probably won’t be a Blue Jay,” according to SportingNews.com. Major League Baseball’s waiver trade deadline — the last day for teams to make deals that would allow newly acquired players to be eligible for the postseason — was Wednesday. NBA Rumors: Ray Allen Speaks With Celtics, Bucks About Possible Return

Share this: The Boston Celtics’ offseason moves might not be over if Ray Allen has a say. The former Celtics guard, who won the 2008 NBA championship with Boston, recently told the Hartford Courant that he’s mulling a comeback and already has spoken with the C’s and Milwaukee Bucks. From the Courant’s article: The Spurs and Clippers have been mentioned, also, but Allen said he has spoken with the Celtics, with whom he won a championship in 2008, and the Bucks, his first NBA stop. “I would love going back to those places if it worked out,” Allen said, “because both teams are good, too. It doesn’t necessarily have to be championship-or-bust for me to go back to the NBA. “I want to be in a
