Share this: The Boston Red Sox suffered a disappointing loss at Fenway Park on Friday as they were thumped by the Tampa Bay Rays 10-5. Rick Porcello turned in his worst outing in recent memory. The Red Sox ace was shelled for eight runs over 4 1/3 innings of work and included four home runs, including a grand slam in the third inning. Tampa Bay’s pop at the plate is what earned it the victory, as Boston actually outhit their American League East rival by a 14-12 margin. However, only three of Boston’s hits went for extra bases (three doubles). Boston’s best scoring opportunity came when it loaded the bases in the fourth inning, but an inning-ending groundout off the bat of Pablo Sandoval

Despite Ugly Loss Friday Night, Red Sox Pitching Off To A Good Start
Despite the performance by Rick Porcello and the Red Sox on Friday night, the pitching is already off to a better start 10 games into the season compared to last season. Through 10 games in 2017, the Red Sox offensive numbers are down from a year ago, but their pitching has improved and is trending in the right direction. The team currently has a 4.40 ERA compared to a 4.81 ERA through their first 10 games of 2016. The addition of Chris Sale has certainly helped and should get even better when David Price returns. Acquiring Marshawn Lynch Could Be Costly, Complicated For Patriots
Share this: Patriots fans celebrated the thought of Marshawn Lynch manning the backfield of their favorite team Monday when the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe reported the running back has privately expressed interest in joining New England. Lynch to the Patriots sounds pretty appealing on paper, right? “Beast Mode” was one of the NFL’s premier running backs before retiring after the 2015 season despite a slightly down, injury-prone final season, in which he carried the ball 111 times for 417 yards with three touchdowns in seven games. But it could be an expensive and complicated process to get Lynch in the Flying Elvis helmet. Lynch would still be under contract with the Seattle Seahawks if he truly decides to unretire. His 2017 salary would be $9 million,
Chicago Tribune Trolls Aaron Rodgers In Tweet About Breakup With Olivia Munn
Share this: NFL rivalries don’t take a break for the offseason. If you didn’t hear the news Friday, Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn reportedly broke up after three years together. And the Chicago Tribune made sure it didn’t take long for Bears fans to revel in the Green Bay Packers quarterback’s misery. The newspaper snuck some pretty amazing shade into a tweet about the news, mentioning only Munn’s name and referring to Rodgers simply as the actress’ “boyfriend.” Ouch. We can’t say we blame Chicagoans for being salty toward Rodgers, as he owns a 14-4 record against the Bears in his career since 2008, and none of those losses came in the same season. Plus, the Bears will have Mike Glennon under center this coming season
