A new animated show featuring Wally the Green Monster is coming to NESN. “Wally’s Opening Day” will premiere Sunday, April 2 on NESN at 5 p.m. ET. The 30-minute show, which is presented by ’47 Brand with the support of XFINITY On Demand and New England Ford Dealers, is part of the Red Sox’s “Calling All Kids” initiative, and it will air the night before Boston opens its 2017 season. ESPN.com’s Ian Begley reports the Knicks will look to deal their veteran franchise player before next season. “The Knicks shopped Anthony in trade talks before the deadline and, barring an unforeseen change of course, remain committed to moving Anthony in the offseason, per sources,” Begley writes. Several teams could be interested in Anthony. Even at age 32, he’s a tremendous offensive player who still can put up 20 points per game. NBA journeyman Omri Casspi reportedly is close to signing a deal with the Timberwolves, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, citing league sources. Casspi was traded from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the DeMarcus Cousins trade, but he was subsequently cut by the Pelicans after he suffered a broken right thumb. Casspi recently was cleared to resume basketball activities and has drawn interest from a number of contenders including the Boston Celtics, according to Stein, citing league sources.
