Sachsenring: Game, set, slicks

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) likes dirt track – a fact often mentioned when his record at counter-clockwise tracks is examined. At the Sachsenring, the 5-time World Champion hasn’t been defeated since 2010. This season saw that record remain, despite the best efforts of the weather – and Marquez pulled off one of the bravest wins of the year. On a single dry line on the track, the Spaniard gambled on a switch to slicks and kept it inch-perfect as he reeled off a string of ever-faster laps. Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) completed the podium, with the German GP proving a turnaround of sorts for both after some difficult races over the first half of

Bruins Wrap: Boston Fights Back To Take Point In Overtime Loss To Capitals

Share this: The Boston Bruins appeared to be headed for a blowout loss after going down 3-0 in the second period of Wednesday night’s road game against the Washington Capitals. by Zack Cox on Wed, Dec 7, 2016 at 11:08AM 2,603 Share this: The 2016 NFL season has been a rough one for Stephen Gostkowski, but the New England Patriots kicker might finally be rounding into form. Gostkowski drilled all four of his field-goal attempts and hit on both of his extra points in Sunday’s 26-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams, earning him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Gostkowski was the NFL’s most accurate kicker over the previous three seasons, but he’s struggled during the current campaign, missing seven kicks (four field goals, three extra points) through 12 games. Sunday marked just his fifth perfect effort this season. “It’s a start,” Gostkowski said after the game.

John Farrell ‘Thrilled’ Red Sox Picked Up 2018 Contract Option

President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced Monday that the club picked up Farrell’s contract option for the 2018 season, and the skipper spoke about it at the Major League Baseball winter meetings. “I’m thrilled that it’s been exercised, obviously,” Farrell said. “I love the city, the organization. The first full year that Dave and I have had a chance to work together, I appreciate his confidence. We had a conversation a little bit yesterday and got a little bit personal where he walks in, he’s inheriting a manager and a chemo plan, and it has a chance to work itself out where
