Why A Toaster Might Be Responsible For Warriors’ Impressive Win Streak
Share this: The Golden State Warriors are piping hot … perhaps thanks to a toaster? The Dubs defeated the Phoenix Suns 120-111 on Wednesday, running their win streak to 13 games. Golden State hasn’t lost since March 11, which (coincidentally?) coincides with just before Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson graciously signed a fan’s toaster. Here’s Thompson’s initial reaction to being asked to sign the toaster on March 13. .@KlayThompson sorry that picture turned into a meme. But thanks for signing my toaster. — Ronnie • GSWToaster (@R_Dollaz) March 14, 2017 Apparently, the fan’s odd request all was part of his quest to have several Golden State players sign the appliance. It’s a journey that began in May 2014, judging by this tweet from the toaster guy himself. The
Chiefs Sign RB C.J. Spiller, Possibly Moving On From Jamaal Charles
Share this: The NFL free agency period has not yet begun, but the Kansas City Chiefs have already made a splash. The team announced the signing of veteran running back C.J. Spiller on Friday. The 29-year-old back had brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets last season, playing in a total of six games between the two teams. While Spiller is not a marquee signing by any means, the move raised question marks regarding the Chiefs roster. Kansas City already has a plethora of backs, including skilled runners in Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West. With strong depth in the backfield, it is believed that the odd man out could be Jamaal Charles. When healthy, Charles has been one of the premier
Philippe Coutinho Signs New Long-Term Contract With Liverpool
Share this: Liverpool FC can announce Philippe Coutinho signed a new long-term contract with the club. The 24-year-old has committed his future to the Reds on Wednesday by penning the fresh deal at Melwood, the terms of which will come into effect from July 1, 2017. Coutinho has been at Anfield for four years following his transfer from Inter Milan in January 2013, during which time he has established himself as one of the most impressive performers in the Premier League, scoring 34 goals in his 163 Liverpool appearances to date. “I would like to thank everybody at the club, first of all,” the Brazilian forward told Liverpoolfc.com upon signing his contract. “I am very happy to sign a new contract here. It is
Kings Reporter Tells DeMarcus Cousins He Doesn’t Want Him In Sacramento
Share this: After being a consistent subject of trade speculation, it appears DeMarcus Cousins isn’t going anywhere after all. It was reported on Tuesday that Cousins plans on signing a maximum-money contract extension to keep him in Sacramento through the 2022-23 season for a projected $207 million. Following the Kings’ game against the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night, Cousins decided to play the role of a reporter and asked Sacramento media members whether or not they would like for him to stay in town. One reporter, the Sacramento Bee’s Andy Furillo, was blunt in telling Cousins that he’d rather not have him stay with the Kings. Furillo’s answer does not come as much of a surprise, considering the history between the two. Earlier this season, Cousins lashed
Bruins Roster Rest: Projected Forward Lines After Dominic Moore Signing
The Boston Bruins signed veteran center Dominic Moore to a one-year contract worth $ 900,000 on Tuesday. The move gives head coach Claude Julien quite a few centers to worth with when training camp and the preseason begin. In addition to having two legitimate top-six centers in Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, the B’s signed free-agent center David Backes in July and need to find a spot for young center Ryan Spooner to continue his development. Noel Acciari and Riley Nash also are capable of playing down the middle. One or more of these centers might have to play on the wing, but it’s not a bad problem to have. The Bruins
Patriots Fill Active Roster By Signing Kevin Snyder From Practice Squad
FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots filled their active roster by signing linebacker Kevin Snyder off the practice squad, according to a source. The Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels first reported the news. The Rutgers product signed to the Patriots’ practice squad last month. Snyder was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Lions in May. He was on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad earlier this season. The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 7.09-second 3-cone drill, 4.31-second short shuttle, 35-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump. The Patriots opened...
