Red Sox Notes: Short Outings Becoming Common Occurrence For Drew Pomeranz

Share this: The hope for a starting pitcher is to go deep into a ballgame and put your team in good position to win. Unfortunately for the Boston Red Sox, Drew Pomeranz hasn’t able to do that very often in the 2017 season. Pomeranz struggled through another short outing Friday night in the Red Sox’s 8-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park. The left-hander only lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits with two walks. Since Boston traded for Pomeranz at the MLB All-Star break last season, the 28-year-old hasn’t been much of an innings eater. The lefty employs a rather slow pace on the mound and often tries to dance around the strike zone with off-speed pitches

Red Sox Hope Momentum Carries Over To Three-Game Series With Rangers

Share this: The Boston Red Sox hope that Sunday’s win over the Oakland Athletics will be the start of sustained success. The Red Sox pounded out 15 hits in a 12-3 win over the A’s and Boston hopes it can keep the momentum going when they open a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. The Red Sox still are trying to find out who they are as a team with questions surrounding the starting rotation and a streaky offense, but if the offense can remain on track then the Red Sox will begin to find their identity. Sean Payton Sheds Light On Adrian Peterson’s Expected Role With Saints

Share this: In a surprising turn of events, Adrian Peterson signed with the New Orleans Saints ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft. For the Saints, inking a running back to a contract just before a huge wave of talented rookie runners enters the NFL is odd, but it speaks to the confidence they have in Peterson. For Peterson, it’s a smart business decision to settle for what he can get before the rookies arrive. The question now is simple: where does Peterson fit in with the Saints, who already boast a strong starting running back by the name of Mark Ingram? As The Sports Daily pointed out Wednesday, Saints head coach Sean Payton spoke about this with Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Click

Nate Robinson Volunteers To Suit Up For Bulls After Rajon Rondo Injury

by Zack Cox on Fri, Apr 21, 2017 at 5:24PM 2,436 Share this: The Chicago Bulls made a surprising announcement Friday afternoon, ruling former Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo out for that night’s game against his old team. Now, another ex-Celtic wants to take his place. Nate Robinson, who played for both the Celtics and the Bulls during his NBA career, volunteered his services on Twitter ahead of Game 3 of the teams’ first-round playoff series. Sure, Robinson might be a bit past his prime now, but the one season he spent with the Bulls was one of the best of his career. He appeared in all 82 games for Chicago in 2012-13, starting 23 and averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists per game. Nowadays, the 5-foot-9

Red Sox Notes: Lack Of Timely, Extra-Base Hits Haunting Sox Early In Season

Share this: The Boston Red Sox suffered a disappointing loss at Fenway Park on Friday as they were thumped by the Tampa Bay Rays 10-5. Rick Porcello turned in his worst outing in recent memory. The Red Sox ace was shelled for eight runs over 4 1/3 innings of work and included four home runs, including a grand slam in the third inning. Tampa Bay’s pop at the plate is what earned it the victory, as Boston actually outhit their American League East rival by a 14-12 margin. However, only three of Boston’s hits went for extra bases (three doubles). Boston’s best scoring opportunity came when it loaded the bases in the fourth inning, but an inning-ending groundout off the bat of Pablo Sandoval
