Share this: The NBA tried a new process to select the starters for the Eastern and Western Conference teams for next month’s All-Star Game. It failed. Fifty percent of the vote came from the fans, with 25 percent each going to the players and media. Early reports suggest the players didn’t take it very seriously. Brice Johnson got two player votes. He has literally never played an NBA game. — Fred Katz (@FredKatz) January 20, 2017 Here’s a breakdown of the voting. The starters were named Thursday. So, which players were snubbed? FIFA To Expand World Cup, Radically Change Format Starting In 2026
The world’s biggest sporting event will grow even larger in the future. FIFA announced on its website Tuesday it has voted to expand the FIFA World Cup finals from 32 teams to 48 starting in 2026. The FIFA Council decided to expand the World Cup by unanimous decision. In the new format, the 48 teams will split into 16 groups of three. The top two teams in each group will then advance to a 32-team knockout phase. FIFA will continue to stage the tournament over 32 days, and no team will play more than seven games, as is the current practice. The news comes as no surprise to most, as World Cup expansion was one

Clay Buchholz Trade A Necessary Move For Red Sox, But Rotation Questions Linger
Share this: The Boston Red Sox have traded Clay Buchholz. For some Red Sox fans, those eight words are cause for celebration. Despite his occasional brilliance, Buchholz long had been a source of frustration in Boston. After a scintillating start to the 2013 season — 7-2 record, 1.71 ERA in 12 starts — the right-hander missed three months with a neck strain, then saw his performance dip over a three-year stretch marred by injuries and inconsistency that saw him fall out of the rotation in 2016. That leads us to Tuesday, when the Red Sox traded their second longest-tenured player to the Philadelphia Phillies in return for a minor league second baseman. The move essentially was a salary dump, and one that Red Sox president

Fantasy Football Week 11: Starts, Sits For Saints Vs. Panthers ‘Thursday Night F…
Share this: We were blessed with some pretty entertaining NFL games in Week 10, and this week’s slate of games should get off to a good start, too, with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers facing off on “Thursday Night Football.” Here’s who we recommend starting and sitting on both clubs in this NFC South matchup. New Orleans SaintsQuarterback: Drew Brees is a must start this week and every week. He’s thrown for at least three touchdowns in four of his last five games, and he’s second only to Matt Ryan with 2,992 passing yards this season. Even at 37 years old, Brees still is a top-tier fantasy (and real life) quarterback. Running Back: The Panthers are allowing the second-fewest rushing yards in the NFL, which
