Bruins’ Brad Marchand Named To NHL All-Star Team For Second Straight Season
The NHL released its 2018 All-Star Game rosters Wednesday, and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand will represent the Atlantic Division for the second consecutive season. Marchand, who was named an All-Star for the first time last season, leads the Bruins in scoring this season with 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points in 32 games. He is among the NHL’s leaders in several categories, including points per game (fourth), goals per game (eighth) and plus/minus (ninth).Marchand, a third-round pick in 2006, is coming off a 2016-17 season in which he totaled career-highs in goals (39), assists (46) and points (85). ... Bengals Fire Offensive Coordinator After Two Straight Games With Zero Touchdowns
It’s not a good time to be a member of the Cincinnati Bengals organization. The Bengals are off to an 0-2 start this season with a 20-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 and a 13-9 loss to the Houston Texans on Thursday. The team failed to score a touchdown in either game, so on Friday, Cincinnati fired offensive coordinator Ken Zampese and promoted its quarterbacks coach. The Boston Red Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners 3-0 in game 1 Friday night at Fenway Park as Eduardo Rodriguez pitched his seventh straight quality start for Boston. Rodriguez improved to 4-1 in the 2017 season after allowing only five hits in six shut out innings while striking out four.
