Joliet drug bust: Eric Lurry dies after ingesting substance

A Joliet man died after swallowing an unknown substance throughout a drug bust Tuesday. Eric Lurry, 37, ingested “a large amount of an unknown substance” after he was taken into custody close to Briggs and Washington streets throughout a narcotics investigation, Joliet police mentioned. Maria Sharapova Receives Two-Year Suspension For Using Banned Substance

The International Tennis Federation dropped the hammer on Maria Sharapova on Wednesday. The ITF suspended Sharapova for two years after she tested positive for meldonium, a banned substance, at this year’s Australian Open. She already was provisionally suspended by the ITF after she announced her positive test at a shocking March press conference. Sharapova could have been suspended for as many as four years, but it was determined that she didn’t use the substance as a performance enhancing drug.
