Regarding Jim Morris’ letter from Oct. 4, “Giving teachers more prep time is good for Chicago’s school kids:” Apparently Mr. Morris, an Evanston resident, thinks it’s okay for Chicago taxpayers to pay Chicago Teachers Union academics for extra prep time and thereby shorten the time for precise instruction. Teachers should not paid an hourly wage. They are paid an above-average wage to carry out their job of instructing Chicago college youngsters. As in different professions, a wage requires that the individual do no matter is important to arrange for his or her work day. If which means working nights and weekends or coming into work early, so be it. No skilled (be that individual a
