Share this: The NFL offseason is underway. While football fans won’t see any game action for several months, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a bevy of NFL news in the meantime. Between the upcoming scouting combine, NFL Draft and free agency period, fans will be sure to get their football fix. Some teams, like the New York Giants, wasted no time grabbing headlines in the early stages of the offseason with the releases of wideout Victor Cruz and running back Rashad Jennings. The transactions came as a surprise to many, including Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who shared his thoughts on the news via Twitter. There’s An Alternate Universe Where Julian Edelman Is With The Packers
Share this: Green Bay Packers fans might want to skip this story from New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman. Let’s just say his miraculous catch 10 days ago could have helped the Packers, not the Patriots, win Super Bowl LI. Edelman appeared on NFL Network’s “Total Access” on Tuesday night and was asked how he wound up with the Patriots after he wasn’t even invited to the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine while coming out of Kent State as a quarterback (did you know Edelman played quarterback in college?!) It’s a lengthy tale from Edelman but worth reading in its entirety. “It’s crazy, so the whole not going to the combine thing, you have your pro day, and so at your pro day you go,
This Mardis Gras Float Piling On Falcons’ Super Bowl Loss Is Ruthless
Share this: Some folks in New Orleans really enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons lose to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI. At least that’s what we can gather from this ruthless Mardi Gras float piling on the “ringless” Falcons. The Falcons now are 0-2 in Super Bowls, which plenty of New Orleans Saints fans probably are OK with seeing as how the teams both play in the NFC South. The Saints are coming off a season in which they went 7-9 and missed the playoffs, but New Orleans always will have its Super Bowl XLIV win over the Indianapolis Colts, while Atlanta forever will have to live with being the team that was on the losing end of the biggest comeback in
Celtics Wrap: Boston’s Offense Struggles In Frustrating 108-92 Loss To Kings
Share this: The Boston Celtics could not extend their winning streak to eight games, as the Sacramento Kings took advantage of a sloppy Celtics performance and took a 108-92 victory. The Celtics struggled all night offensively, shooting just 39.7 percent from the field. Ball security also troubled Boston, as it committed seventeen turnovers. Isaiah Thomas led the C’s with 26 points, but his point total was matched by the Kings’ Darren Collison. Sacramento also received major help from the bench, as Ben McLemore (17 points) and Matt Barnes (14 points) both had strong offensive nights. Amir Johnson had a quality night for Boston with 14 points and five rebounds. With the loss, the Celtics drop to 33-19, while the Kings improve to 21-32. Here’s how it
Celtics Notes: Anticipation Growing For Paul Pierce’s Final Game In Boston
Share this: Houston will be the center of the sports world on Sunday for Super Bowl LI between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons, but that won’t be the only big Boston sports event that day. The red-hot Celtics also will play in a matinee contest against the Los Angeles Clippers in what will be Paul Pierce’s last regular-season game in Boston. Ever. Pierce played 15 seasons in Boston, and helped the Celtics win their 17th NBA championship in 2008. That’s something C’s fans never will forget. And while he hasn’t played for the home team at TD Garden since the 2012-13 season, his presence still is felt all throughout the building. “I think he’s highly respected here and around this league,” Celtics

Liverpool defeated Chelsea 2-1 on Sept. 16, with the result fuelling the Reds’ early season hopes for success and sending the Blues toward their low point. We’ll cover the Reds-Blues clash in full, so let’s preview it. The stakesLiverpool can’t afford to lose. It’s that simple. A Chelsea victory would open up a 13-point
Some Of World’s Smartest Students Tested Pods On SpaceX Hyperloop Track
And you thought your eighth-grade science fair went well. Well, maybe it did. But chances are it wasn’t as cool testing Hyperloop Pods on a test track at SpaceX headquarters. That privilege was reserved for teams of students from Delft University in the Netherlands, the Technical University of Munich and Massachusetts Institute of Technology who got to test their prototype pods on the SpaceX track during the weekend, according to Popular Mechanics. The three teams emerged from a field of 30 that recently competed for the chance to try their pods on the mile-long track. The teams were tested on a variety of criteria and scored by SpaceX engineers. W... NESN.com
