The former NFL quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner officially began his professional baseball career Monday with his first workout at the Mets’ spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where he was swarmed by both fans and media for the first two days. Tebow did a bit of everything, including baserunning drills, batting practice (he hit a home run Tuesday), defensive work in the outfield, meeting with the press and, of course, signing autographs for all his loyal fans.
