Red Sox Notes: Rick Porcello Didn’t Realize He Threw An Immaculate Inning

Rick Porcello tossed six strong innings in the Boston Red Sox’s 8-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, but the fifth frame undoubtedly was his best. The right-hander made extremely quick work of the Rays in the inning, as he struck out the side in order on just nine pitches to complete one of baseball’s most exciting feats, the immaculate inning. Porcello’s accomplishment wasn’t lost on anyone in Tropicana Field, except for himself. After the game, he revealed that it wasn’t until he returned to the dugout after the inning when he realized what he had done. “I didn’t know,” Porcello said, as seen on NESN’s Red Sox postgam... Share this: Jacob Waddell is free to return to Tennessee as a legend among Nashville Predators fans. Allegheny County, Pa., prosecutors announced Wednesday they’ll drop charges against Wadell, the Predators fan who threw a catfish on the ice at the Pittsburgh Penguins’ home, PPG Paints Arena, during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, according to The Associated Press. Wadell was ejected from the venue Monday and subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, possessing instruments of crime and disrupting meetings or processions. Skip Bayless Calls Tom Brady The Greatest Clutch Performer In Sports History

Share this: Skip Bayless couldn’t help but gush over Tom Brady on Monday, one day after the New England Patriots completed an incredible comeback and defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. As far as Bayless is concerned, Brady is the greatest clutch performer in sports — not just football — history. Kings Expertly Troll Cavaliers On Twitter Following Overtime Victory

Share this: It’s been a rough stretch for the Cleveland Cavaliers of late. The Cavs had lost five of their last seven games coming into Wednesday night’s tilt with the Sacramento Kings. The mid-January slump caused star forward LeBron James to call out his front office following the Cavs’ Monday night loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Things got worse Wednesday night as Kings guard Arron Afflalo hit a 3-pointer with 17.3 seconds left in overtime to send Cleveland to its sixth loss in eight tries. After the game, the Kings’ official Twitter account threw some expert level shade at the defending NBA champions. This might be the best thing the Kings do all season. John Farrell Feels Good About ‘Core Group’ Of Red Sox Starting Rotation

Share this: Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell is excited about the workhorses at the front of his 2017 starting rotation. The Red Sox traded for left-hander Chris Sale in December to add to a rotation that includes the 2016 American League Cy Young winner Rick Porcello and former Cy Young winner David Price. Farrell, who finished fourth in the voting for American League Manager of the Year last season, recognizes the value this three-headed monster will bring to his staff. “I think there were five guys last year in the major leagues who threw over 200 innings, we have three of them,” Farrell told NESN’s Tom Caron on Saturday at Red Sox’s “Baseball Winter Weekend” at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. “To

Watch Chiefs’ Dontari Poe Throw Breathtaking Jump-Pass TD Vs. Broncos

Share this: The Kansas City Chiefs earned a convincing win Sunday night, trouncing the Denver Broncos 33-10. While the Chiefs’ victory seemingly never was in doubt, the team added a little insurance late in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass … from a nose tackle. Dontari Poe lined up as a wildcat quarterback and threw a flawless jump-pass touchdown to tight end Demetrius Harris. Take a look at the hilarious play. At 6-foot-3 and 346 pounds, it’s safe to assume Poe is one of the largest “quarterbacks” to throw a touchdown in NFL history.
