Ichiro Suzuki Has Hilarious Response To Question About When He’ll Retire

Share this: Ichiro Suzuki is headed into his 17th season in Major League Baseball, but he’s not planning on retiring anytime soon. The Miami Marlins outfielder is 43 years old and is the second-oldest player in the league after Atlanta Braves pitcher Bartolo Colon, who only has a few months on Ichiro. But it might be a matter of time before the Japan native takes the top spot because he told the Miami Herald’s Clark Spencer he wants to keep playing until he’s 50. In fact, Ichiro is so crazy about baseball that he doesn’t even take vacations. Here’s an excerpt from Spencer: The last time he took one — 2004 or ’05, he doesn’t recall which — was a week-long trip to Milan, Italy.

Ray Allen Wasn’t The Only Former Celtic Not Invited To 2008 Title Reunion

Share this: It’s been nearly nine years since the Boston Celtics won their 17th NBA championship in franchise history, and one former Celtics player thought it was time for a reunion. Former C’s point guard Rajon Rondo recently told The Undefeated that he was planning a get-together for all the members of the historic 2007-08 Celtics squad. Despite being an integral part of the title run, Rondo revealed that Ray Allen would not be invited to the celebration, as Allen’s tenure with the Miami Heat apparently frayed the relationship between him and some of his former Celtics teammates. While Allen will not be in attendance, Rondo told The Undefeated that every other member of the team was at least invited to the reunion, even P.J.

Northwestern Might Have Sealed First Tourney Bid With Incredible Prayer At Buzze…

Share this: If Northwestern finally makes the NCAA men’s basketball tournament this season, we’ll all likely look back at March 1 as the night the Wildcats broke their program-long curse. And what a way to do it. It appeared as though Northwestern and Michigan were heading to overtime with their Big Ten Conference clash tied with 1.7 seconds remaining in regulation, but the Wildcats made sure that didn’t happen. Instead, Nathan Taphorn inbounded the pass and tossed up a Hail Mary the full length of the court to Dererk Pardon, who made the game-winning bucket as time expired to give the Wildcats the 67-65 win. Go crazy, Northwestern. At 21-9, now looks as good a time as ever to make your first ever NCAA Tournament. Thumbnail photo

Folger hits the top four: fastest rookie at Phillip Island

Jonas Folger, P4: "Today was another good day and we can head home feeling positive for the future and happy about what we accomplished at Phillip Island. This morning, I got straight to work and I was able to cut my lap time further, which was a strong start. After that, the team and I tried a lot of settings on the bike but I was never 100% sure about which direction was the best one to take, despite the rhythm being quite good. Then, I started a race simulation but after three or four laps, I crashed at turn six. I returned to the track on my second bike that had a different setting, and after completing eleven laps

Pelicans’ Buddy Hield Ejected For Hitting Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins In Groin

Share this: Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been known to get under the skin of opposing players from time to time. For once, however, he was involved in an incident that he didn’t instigate. During the Kings’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, Cousins set a screen on rookie guard Buddy Hield. As Hield went around the screen he connected with Cousins, in the one area you are never supposed to target. Hield received a flagrant-2 and was ejected for the first time in his career. Cousins, who was suspended earlier this week for picking up his league-leading 16th technical foul, was assessed a technical earlier in the game for hitting Pelicans forward Donatas Motiejunas in the face while going for

These Devices Never Wound Up Changing World Like They Were Supposed To

Share this: Technology is constantly evolving. Today’s big thing is tomorrow’s old news. But everyone once in a while, a new device comes along with hopes of changing the world, only to fall flat on its face. Some devices and concepts are made with the best intentions, but perhaps either were introduced at the wrong time or needed to spend more time in development. But sometimes devices still are awesome and revolutionary, regardless of sales or lifespan. We decided to wind back the digital clock and take a look at some of our favorite examples of technology that promised to change the world, but never followed through. 3-D TV [embedded content] The death of 3-D television finally appears to be upon us. VCU Finds New Miracle Way To Win With Last-Second Foul On Inbounds

Share this: Virginia Commonwealth’s mascot is the Rams, but a four leaf clover might be a more representative choice after the way it won its last two games. On Saturday, the Rams pulled a rabbit out of their hat thanks to St. Bonaventure, which was called for a technical foul after its fans prematurely rushed the court after the Bonnies made what they believed to be a game-winning 3-pointer in the closing seconds. But there still was time on the clock, and VCU went on to win in overtime. Now fast forward to Wednesday, when VCU once again was down by a point with 0.4 seconds left. It would have been tough for the Rams to inbound the pass from the other end of the court and
