Patriots’ Keys Vs. Steelers Include Dominating Inside Red Zone

Share this: The New England Patriots’ defense exudes confidence as it prepares for its toughest test to date Sunday in the AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The unit has etched a chip on its shoulder based on comments made midway through the season that the defense wasn’t passing the eye test nor playing up to its ranking. They’ve only improved since and still are blasting their critics. Sunday is as good a time as any to prove the Patriots’ defense can hold up against a quarterback as good as Ben Roethlisberger. Here’s how they can ensure victory. RED-ZONE DEFENSEThis is an area where the Patriots should be able to limit the Steelers. The Steelers took four trips inside the red zone Sunday in their

Seahawks Move On To NFC Divisional Playoff Round With Win Over Lions

Share this: The Seattle Seahawks defended their home field in Saturday’s NFC Wild Card Game earning a dominant 26-6 win over the Detroit Lions. Running back Thomas Rawls powered the Seahawks offense, carrying the ball 27 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Russell Wilson led the Seattle offensive attack through the air, completing 23 of 30 pass attempts for 224 yards and two touchdowns. One-handed touchdown catches seemed to be the theme of the night for the Seattle offense. The first one came via Paul Richardson, who hauled in a ridiculous touchdown despite being interfered with by Lions defensive back Tavon Wilson. Doug Baldwin followed Richardson’s act and might have stolen a touchdown catch from teammate Jermaine Kearse. The Lions offense struggled to get

Michael Floyd Delivers Block Of The Year To Spring Julian Edelman For Touchdown

by Zack Cox on Sun, Jan 1, 2017 at 3:11PM 2,889 Share this: Julian Edelman scored the longest touchdown of his career Sunday afternoon, with a major assist from New England Patriots teammate Michael Floyd. During the third quarter of a game against the Miami Dolphins, Edelman hauled in a pass from quarterback Tom Brady near his own 30-yard line, broke one tackle and barreled upfield. Tony Lippett appeared to have a bead on the shifty Patriots wideout, but Floyd came out of nowhere to demolish the Dolphins cornerback with a thunderous block. Floyd’s hit cleared the road for Edelman, who sprinted the final 50 yards untouched for a 77-yard touchdown. Floyd also caught a touchdown pass earlier in the game, his first since the Patriots

Watch Chiefs’ Dontari Poe Throw Breathtaking Jump-Pass TD Vs. Broncos

Share this: The Kansas City Chiefs earned a convincing win Sunday night, trouncing the Denver Broncos 33-10. While the Chiefs’ victory seemingly never was in doubt, the team added a little insurance late in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass … from a nose tackle. Dontari Poe lined up as a wildcat quarterback and threw a flawless jump-pass touchdown to tight end Demetrius Harris. Take a look at the hilarious play. At 6-foot-3 and 346 pounds, it’s safe to assume Poe is one of the largest “quarterbacks” to throw a touchdown in NFL history. Share this: Fantasy football playoffs begin in many leagues in Week 13, so this might be your last chance to make improvements for a championship run. Here are the best waiver-wire pickups at every position. Quarterback: Ryan Tannehill, Miami DolphinsTannehill threw for 285 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in a win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Dolphins are 7-4 and in the thick of the playoff race, and they’ll need Tannehill to be effective to end their postseason drought. How Did Oklahoma-Ohio State Refs Miss Joe Mixon’s Blatant Drop On Kickoff Return…

Share this: The No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners appeared well on their way to a home blowout loss against No. 3 Ohio State, but Joe Mixon changed that with an electrifying 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The play made it 14-7 Buckeyes at the time, but upon further review, the touchdown never should have counted after Mixon dropped the ball before he reached the end zone. Somehow that was missed by the on-field refs and the replay crew. Well, the Sooners — and Mixon — certainly will take it. Thumbnail photo via Mark D. Drew Brees Spins Away From Two Defenders, Throws Touchdown Pass (Video)

Apparently Drew Brees is much more mobile than originally thought. The New Orleans Saints quarterback certainly looked like one of the more athletic signal-callers in the league during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, as he pulled off some elusive moves en route to hooking up with tight end Jimmy Graham in the end zone. On 3rd-and-six from the 49ers’ 11-yard line, Brees looked like he was going down and going down in a hurry, but he managed to avoid a sack by spinning away from two defenders. The impressive play that looked like something out of a video game got even better when Brees threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Graham.
