NCAA Tournament: Hockey East Goes Winless In Friday Early Games (Videos)
The NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament kicked off Friday, but it was a disappointing day for several hockey east schools. No. 4 seed Northeastern kicked off its first appearance in the tourney since 2009 following a historic 20-1-2 late-season run that ended with them winning the Hockey East Tournament. The Huskies got off to a quick start, too, as freshman Nolan Stevens potted the first goal of the game just 3:07 into the first. But Northeastern’s Cinderella run was cut short soon after, as No. 1 North Dakota scored five unanswered goals en route to an eventual 6-2 win. Things went slightly better for No. 3 Notre Dame, who took No. 2 Michigan to
EURO 1976 team of the tournament
GK: Ivo Viktor (Czechoslovakia) Viktor was the goalkeeper famously lobbed from the opposition half, but not beaten, by Pelé at the 1970 FIFA World Cup. At the 1976 UEFA European Championship the 34-year-old enjoyed the best week of his career. His performances against the Netherlands and even more so West Germany were the stuff of legend. After several telling saves, some bordering on the miraculous, he was voted into third place in the 1976 Ballon d'Or. Five times the Czechoslovakian Footballer of the Year, Viktor ended his career in 1977 with 63 caps.DF: Ján Pivarník (Czechoslovakia)

NCAA Tournament Midwest Preview: Will We Get Michigan State-Virginia Part III?
The Midwest region as a whole probably is the second-hardest of the bunch, but all eyes are going to be on two teams. NCAA Tournament fans will be watching to see if we’ll get a Michigan State vs. Virginia Part III, and this year’s potential matchup comes with some seeding drama. Many fans feel as though the Spartans should have gotten the No. 1 seed the Cavaliers were dealt on Selection Sunday, and that’ll only fuel Virginia’s fire, as it lost the previous two tournament meetings.
