Share this: The Boston Bruins appeared to be headed for a blowout loss after going down 3-0 in the second period of Wednesday night’s road game against the Washington Capitals. But the B’s mounted an impressive comeback with two late second-period goals and another in the third to force overtime. That’s where the comeback stopped for Boston, as Washington scored in the 3-on-3 overtime to win its seventh straight game — and fourth straight at home — versus the B’s. Here’s a recap of Bruins-Capitals. FORMER PLAYOFF MVP STRIKES EARLY AND OFTENThe Caps needed just 23 seconds to open the scoring. Justin Williams tipped a pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov that barely fluttered past B’s goalie Tuukka Rask. Alex Ovechkin also picked up an assist. Williams

Bruins Goaltie Tuukka Rask Back To Elite Form During Historic Start To Season
Share this: Tuukka Rask is one of the five-best goaltenders in the NHL. The Boston Bruins star didn’t play up to his normal standard in each of the last two seasons following a Vezina Trophy-winning campaign in 2013-14. Most of this decline can be contributed to the Bruins’ defense steadily regressing, both in number of shots and quality of shots allowed. Losing top-four defensemen such as Johnny Boychuk and Dougie Hamilton didn’t help, either. The 2016-17 season has started out in almost perfect fashion for Rask, and it’s clear he’s back to the elite form that made him a $7 million netminder. Wins aren’t a great stat to judge goalies on, but a 10-1-0 record is pretty darn good. Rask’s shutout win over the Colorado Avalanche

Share this: The Boston Bruins’ winning ways came to an end Saturday against the New York Rangers, but they can get right back on track Monday night with the Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden. The Bruins struggled in all phases in the loss to New York over the weekend, but their recent track record has been more positive than not, especially because of how Tuukka Rask’s played in net. Share this: He’s back (probably). Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask is expected to back in net Saturday night when the B’s take on the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. Rask has missed the last three games, all of which were losses for the Bruins, so he’ll hope to stop the bleeding Saturday. However, that will be easier said than done with David Pastrnak serving the first game of his two-game suspension for an illegal check to the head. Also, the Red Wings have gotten out to one of the best starts in the NHL this season, although they won’t have Thomas Vanek in their lineup. Here are the projected lineups for both teams. The projected Detroit lines are according to MLive.com. BOSTON BRUINS (3-4-0)Brad
Tuukka Rask On Hockey Future: ‘I Think My Best Years Are Ahead Of Me’
Share this: Tuukka Rask returned to the ice Friday for practice, and there’s a chance he could play Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. But no matter what happens this weekend, Rask still believes he has many more games — and years — ahead of him in net. “Well, I’d like to think I haven’t hit my prime yet,” Rask told Jack Edwards, as seen Friday on “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. “They say goalies are kind of late bloomers when it comes to that. I’m going to be 30 coming in March, so I think my best years are ahead of me. So that’s something that keeps you motivated.” Hear more from Rask with Edwards in the video above. More Stories Source
Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Canadiens Lines, Pa…
Share this: BOSTON — The Bruins will be without their No. 1 goaltender when they take on the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden on Saturday night. Tuukka Rask is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and won’t dress for this game. Veteran netminder Anton Khudobin will start for Boston, with Zane McIntyre — who was recalled from the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins on an emergency basis Saturday — serving as the backup. There aren’t any changes expected for the rest of the Bruins’ lineup. The Canadiens made a few substantial changes to their roster over the offseason. They traded No. 1 defenseman P.K. Subban for former All-Star Shea Weber in a shocking trade. They also added Russian forward Alexander Radulov and former Chicago Blackhawks winger
Bruins’ Offense Was Terrific, But Tuukka Rask Won Monday’s Game For Boston
Share this: The Boston Bruins took home a decisive 4-1 victory Monday night, and while the offense should be noted in a balanced scoring attack, it’s Tuukka Rask who should make all the headlines. Boston’s goaltender stopped 34 of 35 shots he faced and kept the Winnipeg Jets scoreless on five power play attempts while Boston struggled to get moving. And the cherry on top? Rask recorded two assists — the most he’s scored in a season since 2013-14 and one shy of tying his career high for a single season. B’s coach Claude Julien joined NESN’s Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley following Monday’s road win to discuss Rask’s impact on the game, among other things. Check it out in the video above. Thumbnail
