All aboard Gronk’s Party Ship. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski boarded his party cruise ship Friday. According to the event’s website, it’s a three-day sailing party with Gronk, his family and fans traveling from Miami to a few different locations, including the Bahamas and a private piece of land called Gronk’s Island. The party also includes comedians, DJs and musical artists such as Flo Rida. Gronk is pretty pumped for this trip, as you might imagine. The video below provides a quick glimpse at that excitement. Jared Allen Announces Retirement By Literally Riding Off Into Sunset (Video)
This is how you announce your retirement — if only the sun would cooperate. Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen is calling it a career after 12 seasons, a decision he announced in a very unique way Thursday morning. The four-time All-Pro took to Twitter and posted a video of himself literally “riding off into the sunset,” despite not having the whole sunset thing. Allen also released a more formal statement, too, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. ...
Claude Julien Pleased With Adam McQuaid, Patrice Bergeron In Returns (Video)
The Boston Bruins continued their winning ways on the road Tuesday, taking home a 2-1 overtime win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In addition to picking up two points, though, the Black and Gold picked up a few players as well, as Patrice Bergeron and Adam McQuaid rejoined the lineup following injuries. “When you look at how long (Adam McQuaid’s) been out … I thought he handled himself well for his first game,” Bruins coach Claude Julien told NESN’s Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley following the win. “A couple of glitches here or there, but no different than most of our players tonight. So I thought he was good for his first game
Wayne Simmonds, Dylan McIlrath Have Spirited Fight After Pregame Chat (Video)
Credit the NHL schedule makers for a little bit of irony, matching up the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers on Valentine’s Day night. The longtime rivals squared off in a chippy affair Sunday night, and as usual, there was no love lost. That was to be expected, too, as there was a score to settle after the two teams faced each other a week ago in Philly. Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds was ejected from a Feb. 6 game against the Rangers for a sucker punch to the face of New York captain Ryan McDonagh. The Rangers defense suffered a concussion and hasn’t played since. With the two teams getting together just a week
Brad Marchand Continues Hot Streak With Fastest Goal In Bruins History (Video)
Blink at your own risk during this Boston Bruins-Detroit Red Wings matchup. The two teams combined for three goals in the opening three minutes and five in the first period Sunday afternoon. And Brad Marchand got it all started just eight seconds in. Marchand scored his 28th goal of the season after Brett Connolly won an offensive-zone faceoff and passed the puck back to the Bruins winger, whose wrist shot beat Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. It was his seventh straight game with a goal and his 13th tally in his last 13 contests. Oh, and it also was the fastest goal to start a game in team history. Not a bad start. Not bad at
Klay Thompson Beats Steph Curry In 3-Point Thriller, Allowed To Go Home (Video)
UPDATE: Thompson defeated Curry and Phoenix Suns rookie Devin Booker in the finals after hitting six consecutive money balls to end the round. It was a fantastic display of the two best shooters in the NBA, with Thompson taking the final 27-23. Original story: Much has been made about how dynamic Golden State’s Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, have become as teammates. Saturday night, though, the NBA champion teammates become frenemies. In a pre-shootout interview with TNT’s Craig Sager, Thompson revealed that his father, former NBA player Mychal Thompson, told Klay that if he didn’t def...
Cavaliers’ Kevin Love Re-Injures Same Left Shoulder Hurt In Playoffs (Video)
Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Kevin Love injured his left shoulder. The Cleveland Cavaliers big man appeared to suffer the injury during Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers while being guarded by Kobe Bryant. It’s the same shoulder he injured during the 2015 playoffs against the Boston Celtics. There might be some good news, though. A stinger hurts, but it’s much better than another separated shoulder. Love and the Cavs can only hope that’s all it is. Thumbnail photo via David Richard/USA TODAY Sports Images ...
