Olympian Michael Phelps Strips To Speedo, Distracts Free Throw Shooter (Videos)

Michael Phelps never went to college. The world clearly missed out on Michael Phelps in college. The swimmer and most decorated Olympian of all time added a new line to his already impressive resume on Thursday: Featured guest behind The Curtain of Distraction. Phelps aided the Arizona State basketball student section during a Pac-12 contest against Oregon State. We’ll let the videos speak for themselves. Phelps seemed pretty happy with himself (ASU went on to win the game, 86-68), and who could blame him: the shooter missed both free throws. We shouldn’t really be surprised, though. Phelps has never been one to lose — at anyth...

Daniel Murphy Leads Mets To NLCS With Sneaky Steal, Clutch Home Run (Videos)

Murphy’s Law states that if something bad can happen, it will. Daniel Murphy plays for the New York Mets, but it was the Los Angeles Dodgers he haunted Thursday night in Game 5 of the National League Division Series. With the Mets trailing by one run against Zach Greinke, the odds-on favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award, Murphy created a run when he took an extra base on a walk. He later scored to tie the game. A few innings later, Murphy again took things into his own hands, this time roping a line drive into the right field sears to put the Mets ahead for good. New York

New Miss America Calls Tom Brady A Cheater, Defies All Logic (Videos)

Betty Cantrell is the newest Miss America, but don’t expect New England Patriots fans to stand and applaud her victory. Because, you see, Cantrell believes Tom Brady did deflate those footballs after all. Here’s a sentence we never thought we’d type: Country singer Brett Eldredge asked Cantrell, who’s Miss Georgia, on Sunday if she believed Brady cheated in the Deflategate scandal, even though the QB’s suspension was nullified last week. Cantrell’s response must have left Roger Goodell, Ted Wells and Jeff Pash proudly beaming in their palatial New York estates. Minutes later, in a moment that Brady pal and Miss America rival Donald Trump wo...

Mark Wahlberg, Diddy Bet $250K On Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao (Videos)

Mark Wahlberg believes in Manny Pacquiao. Diddy believes in Floyd Mayweather. They’re both so confident, in fact, they’re each willing to risk $ 250,000 on their guy. After Wahlberg and Diddy placed their bet, the hefty total led some to speculate Diddy wouldn’t actually pay up if he lost. When Wahlberg was tracked down by TMZ, though, he assured the paparazzi the rapper/producer wasn’t able to chicken out. “Oh, he’s already paid,” Wahlberg told TMZSports. “It’s in escrow.” With that amount of money put down, the winner would almost be able to recoup the cost of the most expensive ticket, which was going...

Joe Paterno Twice Addresses Students Showing Support Outside Head Coach’s Home (Videos)

by Mike Cole on Tue, Nov 8, 2011 at 11:55PM   Joe Paterno didn't get a chance to talk to the media on Tuesday as his weekly news conference was shut down by Penn State officials.  However, no one could stop the long-time Nittany Lions head coach from addressing Penn State students Tuesday night. Throngs of students camped out outside Paterno's residence in a show of support for Paterno who has been heavily criticized for his role in the Jerry Sandusky saga.  Students repeatedly chanted for Paterno, and he obliged on two occasions. In a bizarre scene, Paterno addressed the students at first from his front door. Later, he came out to his front lawn for a quick interaction with the students. See
