by Zack Cox on Tue, Jan 23, 2018 at 10:44AM 2,034 The New England Patriots are the designated “home” team in Super Bowl LII, but you won’t know it by looking at their uniforms. The Patriots have opted to wear their road white jerseys against the Philadelphia Eagles rather than their usual home blues. New England is 3-0 when wearing white in the Super Bowl during the Bill Belichick/Tom Brady era and 1-2 when wearing blue. Also, in a biz... NESN.com

Here Are The Custom Uniforms Red Sox Will Wear For 2017 Holiday Games
Share this: Major League Baseball is getting festive in 2017, and the Boston Red Sox are joining the party. MLB on Tuesday unveiled its “Special Event” series of uniforms for the current season, which includes unique sets of threads that all 30 teams will wear on four separate occasions: Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Independence Day. So, what do they look like? Chris Creamer of Sportslogos.net offered a sneak peek of the Red Sox’s threads for the four days, including what they’ll wear on All-Star weekend. The league’s other teams will wear similarly-themed jersey combinations — which also include custom socks — throughout each weekend. MLB has rolled out special jerseys before, but it appears they’re taking things even further this year,
Bobby Bowden Spouts Cringe-Worthy Theory About Players Who Wear Earrings
Share this: Bobby Bowden should know better than to spout nonsense at his advanced age but he’d probably fade into obscurity by doing otherwise. The legendary college football coach said Wednesday during his appearance on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike” show that many of his players wore earrings because they wanted to look like their mothers in the absence of their fathers. Oh boy. Bobby Bowden on players not having dads. "They wanna grow up to be men, like their momma. That's why they wear earrings." pic.twitter.com/iBhUueqEqw — Dr Cork Gaines (@CorkGaines) January 4, 2017 “My last years at Florida State, 65 or 70 percent of my boys did not have a daddy at home,” Bowden said. “They were raised by mommas, sweet ol’ mommas. Thank
Colorful Odell Beckham Jr. Cleats Salute Late NBA Reporter Craig Sager
Share this: Craig Sager’s death Thursday after his lengthy bout with cancer touched many, including athletes outside the NBA world. New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became the latest to honor the legendary TNT sideline reporter Sunday, when it was announced he would wear colorful cleats reminiscent of Sager’s suits, then auction them off to Sager’s foundation. Beckham can’t wear the cleats during the game because of the NFL’s strict uniform rules, but it appears he rocked them during pregame warmups. The cleats were taped up, but the salmon-colored sole seemed to give away what they were. Beckham isn’t the only NFL player planning to honor Sager with custom footwear. Earlier in the week, Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate, whose
Matt Barkley Taking Page From Tom Brady’s Playbook To Stay Warm In Chicago
by Zack Cox on Sun, Dec 18, 2016 at 1:06PM 1,627 Share this: Sunday’s Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers is expected to be one of the coldest in Soldier Field history, and Bears quarterback Matt Barkley is using a unique method to stay warm. Barkley told ESPN’s Michelle Steele and NFL Media’s Stacey Dales he plans to wear a wetsuit — similar to the ones triathletes wear — under his shoulder pads in an effort to combat the sub-freezing temperatures in Chicago. The QB said he picked up the idea from former teammate Matt Cassel. How’d Cassel learn about it? From the man he used to back up in New England — Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Here’s how the interesting undergarment looked on Barkley during pregame warmups: The
Here’s What Red Sox Players Wore On ‘Favorite Jersey’ Flight To Toronto
The Boston Red Sox had some fun on their flight to Toronto. Red Sox manager John Farrell told his players before Wednesday night’s game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park that they’d be allowed to wear their favorite jerseys — rather than formal wear — for their trip across the border. The Sox won their series finale in San Diego 7-2, and some of the threads worn for the “Favorite Jersey” flight certainly didn’t disappoint. If anything, it was a very random assortment.
