Share this: If this happened at home, someone might be in big trouble with the wife. Home plate umpire Todd Tichenor was forced to call time during the second inning of Tuesday night’s game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at Fenway Park because someone left open the garage door located in foul territory along the left field line. It only was a minor delay, as a quick-acting employee ran to the rescue, knowing exactly where the button to close the door was located. But let it be a lesson to any man with a garage door at home, where that type of brain fart can land you in the doghouse. More Stories Source link

Red Sox Notes: Andrew Benintendi Turns In Three-Hit Night Vs. Yankees
Share this: BOSTON — It turns out this Andrew Benintendi kid is pretty good after all. The Red Sox won a tough game Tuesday against the New York Yankees behind a stellar effort from starter Rick Porcello, but on the other side of the ball, all eyes were on Benintendi. The 22-year-old left fielder made his Fenway Park debut, and he certainly put on a show. Benintendi went 3-for-3 with an RBI, two runs and a controversial double that was ruled a home run and then overturned after a crew chief review. But not even missing out on his first big league homer by mere inches could spoil Benintendi’s night. “It was fine,” Benintendi said of the ruling. “I was happy with whatever outcome
Emotional Alex Rodriguez Announces His Final Game With Yankees Will Be Friday
Alex Rodriguez’s playing days with the New York Yankees soon will be over. The Yankees announced Sunday that the third baseman/designated hitter will play his final game with New York on Friday at Yankee Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rays. After that game, Rodriguez will be unconditionally released from his player’s contract and sign with the team through Dec. 31, 2017 to be an advisor and instructor. “After spending several days discussing this plan with Alex, I am pleased that he will remain a part of our organization moving forward and transition into a role in which I know he can flourish,” Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner s... MLB Rumors: Cubs, Yankees Working On Trade Involving Aroldis Chapman
Share this: Aroldis Chapman’s stay in New York might be a short one. The New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs are working on a deal that would send Chapman to Chicago in exchange for infield prospect Gleyber Torres, according to Today’s Knuckleball’s Jon Heyman. No deal has been finalized, but sources confirmed to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal on Sunday that the teams are discussing a Torres-Chapman trade. And in a sign that a deal might be imminent, Torres was scratched from Class A Myrtle Beach’s game Sunday. Chapman, who was suspended for the first 30 games of the season due to domestic violence, is 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA and 20 saves in his first season with the Yankees. The Cubs, who have no shortage of young talent,
Red Sox Notes: David Price’s Start Vs. Yankees Not Terrible, But Not Up To Expectations
David Price’s latest outing against the New York Yankees on Sunday could have been much worse. The Boston Red Sox starter gave up a whopping 11 hits in the Bronx, walking one with only one strikeout over 5 2/3 innings, but he minimized the damage to just three runs, a two-run deficit the Red Sox’s offense should have been able to come back from. In short, Price wasn’t bad. But the Red Sox are expecting him to be great. Price was leaving pitches over the plate, and the left-hander couldn’t nail down a put-away pitch. After the game, he was forced to harp on the same thing he has all season: execution. “Even when I
Steven Wright Overcomes Bumpy Sixth Inning In Victory Over Yankees
Steven Wright hit a bit of a speed bump in the sixth inning during the Boston Red Sox’s 5-3 win over the New York Yankees on Friday, but the rest of his outing couldn’t have gone much better. Wright allowed three earned runs (all in the sixth) on three hits while striking out four in the win. Hear what Wright said about his performance in the win in the video from “Red Sox Final” above.
