Zdeno Chara’s Quick Thinking Saves Potential Goal In Win Over Red Wings

With the game tied in the second period and the Detroit Red Wings threatening, Zdeno Chara came up with a huge save for the Boston Bruins in their 3-1 win at TD Garden on Saturday. After playing against their teammates Tuesday night in Providence, the Bruins will get to take on players from another organization on Wednesday when they open their preseason schedule with an exhibition game against the Senators. The Bruins will take 22 players on the trip to Ottawa. The final lineup is not set as they'll need to scratch two players from the traveling contingent with one extra forward and one extra defenseman coming along as insurance. Captain Zdeno Chara, who is still nursing a contusion on his left leg after being hit with a shot in practice on Monday, will not be making the trip to face his former team.
