Win or lose almost didn’t matter for many of the players on the Lowell Spinners during the Futures at Fenway game Sunday.
Playing in Fenway Park was a dream of many of the players on the Boston Red Sox’s Single-A affiliate, so just sitting in the dugout was good enough for some.
“It’s unreal,” Spinners center fielder Danny Mars said. “Words can’t even describe it. This place — it’s history, it’s baseball. This park’s one of a kind.”
The Spinners were winning until the ninth inning when they unraveled and ended up losing 6-1. However, some might be lucky enough to enjoy a victory at Fenway Park later in their careers.
