Guy Fieri is a self-proclaimed Oakland Raiders fan, but apparently his favorite quarterback doesn’t wear silver and black.
The “Food Network” personality and restaurant owner recently joined USA TODAY’s For the Win for an NFL-themed Q&A session. Fieri was grilled on a wide range of topics, from his thoughts on NFL team cocktails (Fireball and apple juice for the Seattle Seahawks) to who could pull off his signature hair look (Jon Gruden).
Fieri’s most interesting response, though, came when he was asked what sandwich he would make to honor an NFL player.
“The Tom Brady sandwich would be a prosciutto with a nice Buffalo mozzarella, on a crispy baguette with a little fresh basil,” Fieri said. “Brady is classy, he’s a really cool dude. He’s got a lot of flavor.”
Fieri’s sandwich makes some sense, we suppose, although the only NFL connection we can see is that the New England Patriots quarterback plays in the same league as the Buffalo Bills. Whatever. We’d still eat it anyways.
