STOCKHOLM — A Swedish prosecutor has charged rapper A$AP Rocky with assault over a struggle in Stockholm final month.
Prosecutor Daniel Suneson mentioned in a press release Thursday that he filed expenses towards the artist and two others, “having come to the conclusion that the events in question constitute a crime and despite claims of self-defense and provocation.”
The case has drawn the eye of fellow recording artists and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Rocky, a platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated artist whose actual identify is Rakim Mayers, has been in custody since July three as authorities examine a struggle he was allegedly concerned in on June 30 earlier than showing at a music competition.
The three suspects will stay in custody till trial. The Stockholm District Court must set a date for the proceedings.
