Carjackings, armed theft reported in South Side


Chicago police are warning residents of two carjackings and an armed theft reported in South Side neighborhoods.

In every incident, females have been approached by two or three males, one among which had a handgun, Chicago police stated in a group alert. In two of the incidents, the females had their autos stolen and within the third she had her purse stolen.

The robberies occurred:

About Eight p.m. Jan. 8, within the 10700 block of South Emerald Avenue, About 8:15 p.m. Jan. 12, within the 10400 block of South Charles Street; and About 7:15 p.m. Jan. 15, within the 9900 block of South Vincennes Avenue.
