Ian judging a “best dressed lady” competition… seriously In hideous Saturday night WKD drinkers terms, getting sacked from Live at Studio 5 is a bit like getting knocked back by some ”3 out of 10″ who you were only chatting to because it was 2am, and your mates keep telling you how hilarious it is to have sex with women who you don’t find attractive. It’s not a great look. So, raise a sombre glass to Ian Wright today, because he’s been unexpectedly sacked from his interrupting job on the show by a nasty Channel 5 villain who has reportedly been steadily butchering the winning format for the last few weeks. David Beckham’s England Career – Disappointment and Dedication
David Beckham’s England career, which began way back in 1996 against Moldova (call-up photo with then England manager Glenn Hoddle is to your left) received its notice of termination from Fabio Capello yesterday. Not a huge surprise. Beckham is 35 years old and won’t be any younger by the time Euro 2012 gets here, and the English public, media and just plain old common sense demands an infusion of fresh talent. But seems a little harsh that Beckham wasn’t informed prior to the announcement. Asked whether he had telephoned the midfielder to tell him that he would no longer be selected for competitive games, Capello said: “No. No. But I think I will speak with him. We tried to speak
Hey Wayne Bridge, Vanessa Perroncel wants you back!
Vanessa and Wayne - before she didn’t do it with JT In light of all of the teenage prostitutes doing the rounds, just rogering your best mate’s girlfriend actually seems quite twee and civilised. And yet, only a few short months ago, the entire nation was bulging eyed with anger after allegations arose concerning JT, Bridgey, and a French underpants model called Vanessa. Anyway, just as the whole thing was finally fading beneath Peter Crouch’s Nosferatu-like shadow, Vanessa Perroncel clearly felt that it was high time she went on GMTV to remind everyone of the things that she definitely didn’t do. Liverpool man linked with Barca, and Robinho update…
Clue: he’s in this picture Those still reeling for the Crouchie-pays-for-sex debacle that totally ruined Abbey Clancy’s weekend might be interested to know that she’s sought advice from Toni Terry - JT’s rather put upon baby mama/wife. Crouchie, without wanting to speak too soon, it looks like you got away with it. Can everyone just move on and stop using hookers now, please? At least for a bit? (more…)
Joe Cole is better than Lionel Messi, insists Steven Gerrard
Really? You’d think that footballers would learn from their mistakes. But as sure as the sun sets, eggs is eggs, and as sure as Ashley Cole will inevitably end up with his oozing hands dancing all over the wrong woman’s naked body, English players will forever oversell themselves, despite the mountain of facts that suggest the contrary. Today, as reported in The Guardian newspaper, Steven G said this about his new best friend, Joe Cole: (more…)
Villa players text each other celebratory champagne bottles
A whole lot of texting went on It’s a shame really. Whilst Martin O’Neill was loitering outside Villa Park, pretending to change a tyre, but secretly waiting for a tearful Mourinho-like send off from his players, those little turds were reportedly sending one another text messages of champagne bottles, and humming “ding dong the witch has gone” while they were at it. Given – Nasri – Cesc – RVP – Gibbs – Wilshere – Holic
Morning all, perhaps it's a bit like clutching at straws but the Shay Given thing hasn't quite gone away. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Ireland's game against Argentina on Wednesday evening Given said: I haven't joined City to sit on the bench or whatever. I've gone there to play. If that's not the case, I suppose I'll sit down on Monday with the club and see where to go after that. You don't want to miss any football so, for me, it's very important that I play. That he's gone so public is quite interesting, particularly after the 'exclusive' appeared in the Mirror. He sounds like a man who knows the number 1 jersey is going to Joe
