Greensboro Grasshoppers Troll Jim Boeheim With ‘(No) Value Night’
Share this: Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim threw some shade at the city of Greensboro, N.C., after his team’s first-round exit from the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in March. And while the city fired back initially, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Single-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, kept roasting Boeheim as they hosted a “Jim Boeheim (No) Value Night” before their game Tuesday, according to NBC Sports. This, of course, is in response to the Syracuse coach saying there would be “no value” in moving the ACC Tournament back to Greensboro, where the tournament traditionally is held. As part of the promotion, all fans attending the game with a valid Syracuse, N.Y., driver’s license got a free ticket, $20 in concessions and a pregame meet
Matthew Slater Trying To Be Like His Dad, Spend Career With One Team
Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Tuesday was one of those days when it didn’t seem so bad to reside in New England. It was 80 degrees without a cloud in the sky when Matthew Slater stepped onto the Gillette Stadium game field to meet with the media for the first time since the Patriots won Super Bowl LI. Perhaps his sentiment would have been different it was drizzling and 45 degrees as it’s been for the rest of the spring in Foxboro, but Slater more than hinted that he wants to spend his entire career with the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. “I realize how blessed I’ve been to be here for the entirety of my career, and

So, what do they look like? Chris Creamer of Sportslogos.net offered a sneak peek of the Red Sox’s threads for the four days, including what they’ll wear on All-Star weekend. The league’s other teams will wear similarly-themed jersey combinations — which also include custom socks — throughout each weekend. MLB has rolled out special jerseys before, but it appears they’re taking things even further this year,
Matthew Slater’s Pick For NBA MVP Shouldn’t Come As A Major Surprise
Share this: As the NBA MVP debate rages on, the choice is obvious for New England Patriots special teams captain Matthew Slater. The NFL offseason has given Slater plenty of time to sit around and watch fellow UCLA-product Russell Westbrook accomplish some record-setting feats on the basketball court. “I got a chance to meet Russell when we were in school and just a classy kid, the way he carries himself,” Slater said. “I think all of us would be lying if we said we thought that he would be doing what he’s doing now, but that’s just the type of competitor he’s been since Day 1 at UCLA. It’s been fun to watch his journey, grow into who I think should be the
Chris Sale Brilliant, But Red Sox’s Offense Quiet In Loss To Tigers
Share this: The Boston Red Sox were handed a tough-luck 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Monday afternoon at Comerica Park. Red Sox ace Chris Sale was brilliant over 7 2/3 innings. Sale allowed only two runs on five hits while striking out 10, but the Red Sox’s offense was silenced by Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander. To hear what manager John Farrell, Dustin Pedroia, Brock Holt and Sale had to say about the loss, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank.
