The New York Knicks center started his career as a relatively tremendous free-throw shooter, especially for a big guy, but he’s seen a sharp drop-off from the charity stripe over the last two seasons. After shooting no worse than 68 percent from the line in each of his first seven seasons, Noah dropped to 60 percent two seasons ago before falling under 50 percent last season and checking in at 41.7 percent this season. That disheartening figure includes an airball Tuesday night that might have been the worst

NFL Mock Draft 2017: First-Round Predictions With Super Bowl Matchup Set
Share this: The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons will play for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5 in Houston, but for the other 30 NFL teams, it’s time to look at the 2017 draft. Defense wins championships, and that’s the theme of this draft class. This year’s group is loaded with quality pass rushers and run stoppers, led by Texas A&M star Myles Garrett, who’s been atop mock drafts and rankings throughout the season. In fact, it’s very possible we see two defensive ends selected in the top five as Garrett and Alabama stud Jonathan Allen both grade out as top prospects. Here’s our ninth 2017 NFL mock draft. 1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M2. San Francisco 49ers: Jonathan Allen,

Celtics Star Isaiah Thomas Calls Patriots ‘The Team You Want To Be’
Share this: The New England Patriots reached their ninth Super Bowl in franchise history after their 36-17 rout of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Those nine Super Bowl appearances are an NFL record, and the Patriots’ greatness has other Boston sports franchises pulling for them to capture their fifth Lombardi Trophy, especially the Boston Celtics. Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, who is a Seattle Seahawks fan and Tacoma, Wash. native, has split his fan hood between the Seahawks and Patriots since he met quarterback Tom Brady last summer while the two were recruiting then-free agent Kevin Durant to join the C’s. The two Boston sports stars now “frequently exchange text messages” and the C’s point guard told the media on Monday that the Patriots set
Check Out What These Patriots Players Looked Like As Texas High Schoolers
by Zack Cox on Mon, Jan 23, 2017 at 10:10PM 1,252 Share this: As you’ll surely hear countless times over the next two weeks, Super Bowl LI in Houston will represent a homecoming for several New England Patriots players. Wide receiver Danny Amendola, cornerback Eric Rowe, tight end Martellus Bennett and defensive tackle Malcom Brown all spent their formative years the Houston area, and after the Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Houston Chronicle online sports editor Matt Young shared some photos of those players from their high school glory days. Let’s start with Amendola, who apparently weighed about 125 pounds during his time at The Woodlands High School. Next up is Rowe, who looked … well, pretty much the same
Patriots-Steelers Takeaways: Tom Brady, Chris Hogan Connects Deep In Win
Share this: With two weeks until the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, one debate surely will rage on through the hot-take radio waves: Is Tom Brady keying in on wide receivers Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan too much? Edelman and Hogan have made up 530 of Brady’s 671 yards and three of his five touchdowns through two playoff games. Brady’s completing 74.4 percent of his passes to Edelman and Hogan and just 51.2 percent to other receivers. The short answer to this inevitable debate, however, is no. Edelman and Hogan are playing like Brady’s best receivers, so there’s no logical reason not to target them. It’s also been a winning formula through two playoff games, and
Martellus Bennett Literally Too Excited To Sleep After Patriots’ Super Bowl Bert…
Share this: New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett couldn’t hide his excitement Sunday night, and that apparently carried over into the morning. Bennett and the Patriots dismantled the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday night, earning a berth in Super Bowl LI. While Super Bowl trips almost are taken for granted in New England — the Patriots are making their NFL-record ninth trip to the big game — Bennett is getting his first taste. He understandably was overcome with joy Sunday night, dancing with the Patriots cheerleaders after the game and talking about how he was going to bake a celebratory cake. And while we’re not sure whether he actually baked that cake, it appears the big tight end spent
