The San Francisco 49ers quarterback revealed to reporters Tuesday that he has received death threats in response to his ongoing protest against police violence and the oppression of minorities in the United States, according to ESPN’s Nate Wagoner. He said someone carrying out their against him would propel the movement he supports in a forward direction. “To me, if something like that were to happen, you’ve proved my point and it will be loud and clear for everyone why it happened and that would move this movement forward at a greater speed than what it is even now,”

David Price Reveals His AL Cy Young Winner; Red Sox Fans Probably Agree
Share this: David Price went to bat for his teammate Tuesday. While many probably expected Price to be in the American League Cy Young discussion this year, a slow start threatened to derail the left-hander’s first season in Boston. That doesn’t mean a Red Sox pitcher won’t bring home the hardware, though, as Rick Porcello is a serious contender for the award. Price wants the world to know. I haven't done my due diligence for my teammate and it's well over due…RICK PORCELLO for cy!! Last night should have solidified that #RPCY — David Price (@DAVIDprice24) September 20, 2016 Porcello tossed a complete game Monday as the Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-2. The right-hander now is 21-4 with a 3.08 ERA over 210 2/2
Top 15 Photos Of Tim Tebow’s First Mets Workouts As Professional Baseball Player
Share this: And so the Tim Tebow Era in New York begins. No, not that New York (besides, it’s actually New Jersey). We’re talking about baseball Tebow and the New York Mets. The former NFL quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner officially began his professional baseball career Monday with his first workout at the Mets’ spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where he was swarmed by both fans and media for the first two days. Tebow did a bit of everything, including baserunning drills, batting practice (he hit a home run Tuesday), defensive work in the outfield, meeting with the press and, of course, signing autographs for all his loyal fans. Check out the best photos from the beginning of Tebow’s baseball career below. Click
Red Sox Notes: Boston’s Confidence Continues To Grow As Postseason Nears
Share this: Remember when Kevin Millar famously told The Boston Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy, “Don’t let (the Boston Red Sox) win today?” Well the rest of the American League East probably should re-watch “Four Days in October” right about now because Boston is leaving them all in the dust. The Red Sox are 13-5 in September after picking up their sixth straight victory Tuesday in a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles, and those six straight wins have come against the New York Yankees and Orioles. That successful stretch has the Red Sox sitting pretty atop the AL East, and their magic number to clinch the division now is down to eight. They have a 91.5 percent chance to win the division, according to MLB.com, and their postseason
Eduardo Rodriguez Rebounds From Rough Start With Solid Outing Vs. Orioles
Share this: Eduardo Rodriguez’s last two starts couldn’t have been more different. Rodriguez only last 2 1/3 innings against the New York Yankees on Sept. 15, but he rebounded Tuesday with a solid outing against the Baltimore Orioles. He allowed only two earned runs on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings in Boston’s 5-2 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards. Jacoby Brissett Named One Of Patriots’ Practice Players Of The Week
Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — Apparently New England Patriots rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a solid week of practice before he was called into action Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Brissett was named one of the Patriots’ practice players of the week for his work leading up to the team’s game against the Dolphins. Rookie linebacker Elandon Roberts and practice squad defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton also earned the honor. It’s possible Brissett was named one of the Patriots’ practice players of the week for imitating Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Patriots beat the Dolphins 31-24 in the Week 2 matchup. Brissett completed 6 of 9 passes for 92 yards in two-plus quarters under center. He could start the Patriots’ Week 3 matchup against the Houston
Tim Tebow Mets Jerseys Top MLB Sales On First Day; No Surprise There
Share this: Tim Tebow is wildly popular among Major League Baseball fans. Wait, what? Replica jerseys bearing the name and number of the famous New York Mets minor leaguer were the top-selling shirts on two prominent online retail platforms, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. This comes on the first day Tebow’s No. 15 Mets jersey and other merchandise went on sale to the public. “Based on jerseys sold Monday, Tebow’s was shown as the No. 1 best-seller on Fanatics and MLB’s online shop, ahead of stars such as David Ortiz and Kris Bryant,” Rovell writes. Big League teams don’t normally promote the images of minor league players, but a special agreement between Tebow and the jersey manufacturer exists to help break from
