Share this: It’ll be just like old times this weekend for Tom Brady and Wes Welker. Welker revealed Friday morning on a Miami radio station that he contacted Brady because he’ll be in town for Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. It seemed like a perfect opportunity for the two to catch up. But Brady’s definition of “catching up” involves far more than just a meal. In fact, it involves some literal “catching” as the Patriots quarterback looks to stay sharp during his four-game Deflategate suspension. “I hit him up to do dinner Saturday night. He’s like, ‘I’m going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later (after the Michigan-Colorado football game), but how about that morning

Bills Shock Jets On ‘Thursday Night Football,’ Score Two Touchdowns In Two Minut…
Share this: The New York Jets were well on their way to earning an easy win against the Buffalo Bills on “Thursday Night Football.” Until they weren’t. Sure, Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis looked silly again early in the game after Marquise Goodwin torched him for an 84-yard touchdown. But it couldn’t happen to the Jets secondary again, could it? Think again. That’s a 71-yard touchdown to Greg Salas, for those keeping score at home. Fortunately for Revis, it wasn’t him who blew the coverage. Fortunately for the Bills, touchdowns that don’t embarrass Revis still count on the scoreboard. Just 2:54 later, though, the Bills took advantage of a stroke of luck and took it to the bank. With that defensive touchdown, the Bills stormed back from
Red Sox Wrap: Hanley Ramirez’s Walk-Off Homer Gives Boston 7-5 Win Vs. Yankees
Share this: BOSTON — Hanley Ramirez was a hero in Boston on Thursday night. After Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez dug a deep hole for his club, giving up four runs over just 2 1/3 innings, Boston looked to be out of this one. But with a late surge from the Red Sox’s offense, they were able to walk off with a 7-5 win thanks to a monster three-run homer by Ramirez. Here’s how it all went down. GAME IN A WORDNail-biter. The Red Sox looked as though they’d lost this game through most of the contest. They didn’t generate much offense, which didn’t help them overcome Rodriguez’s poor start. But Boston put runs on the board when it needed to, and with two outs in

Braves, Marlins Clear Benches After Jose Ramirez Buzzes Jose Fernandez
Share this: A couple of pitchers named “Jose” were at the center of a heated situation Wednesday night at Turner Field. The Braves and Marlins cleared the benches when Atlanta reliever Jose Ramirez threw a pitch over the head of Miami ace Jose Fernandez. Fernandez had been squaring around to bunt in the seventh inning when he received the chin music from Ramirez. No punches were thrown once everyone ran onto the field, but it was a rather tense game, all things considered. Braves starter Julio Teheran almost hit Fernandez in the fifth inning and plunked Martin Prado in the sixth, after which Fernandez drilled Nick Markakis. Perhaps that sequence of events sparked Ramirez’s purpose pitch in the seventh, although it’s
NBA’s Steph Curry Calls Out President Obama For Golf Course Trash Talk
Share this: NBA MVP Steph Curry hits the links with President Barack Obama every now and then. He also admits that the Commander in Chief beats him in golf. However, while appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Curry revealed one of the surprising reasons why. Apparently, Obama is a trash-talker. Curry refrained from stating Obama’s handicap, which was one of the reasons the president was able to overcome the skill of Curry, an avid golfer, on the scorecard. But it wasn’t the only reason — Curry admitted to being flustered when Obama started talking smack. First Lady Michelle Obama also appeared on the show and didn’t seem surprised at her husband’s method of competing. She did, however, tell Curry to give it back to him — in
Red Sox Wrap: Boston Wastes Rick Porcello’s Gem In 1-0 Loss To Orioles
Share this: BOSTON — Rick Porcello has gotten terrific run support all year, but the law of averages caught up to him Wednesday. The Red Sox right-hander dazzled the Baltimore Orioles in a stellar outing, but Orioles starter Kevin Gausman did him one better, shutting down Boston’s bats to hand the Sox a 1-0 loss in the teams’ series finale at Fenway Park. It was an opportunity wasted for the Red Sox, as both the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees lost Wednesday. Boston now holds a one-game lead over Baltimore in the American League East. Here’s how this one went down. GAME IN A WORDDuel. Porcello and Gausman both brought their A-games, combining to allow just one run on a total of eight hits in their respective
