Share this: The Houston Texans waived wide receiver Keith Mumphrey two days after it was discovered he was expelled from a graduate studies program and banned from Michigan State’s campus for a sexual misconduct violation, according to multiple reports. Mumphrey was accused of sexually assaulting a Michgan State student he had met on an online dating site in March 2015, one day before his Michigan State pro day. The accuser didn’t return contact to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office and charges were never pressed against Mumphrey. Mumphrey was informed in 2016 that he was expelled and banned from campus after Michigan State held its own judicial process. Share this: Jason Whitlock angered plenty of black athletes with his comments on LeBron James and racism, but Martellus Bennett wasn’t about to let the FOX Sports 1 personality get off so easily. Whitlock appeared on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Thursday and talked about the racism James experienced when someone spray painted the N-word on the gate of his Los Angeles home Wednesday. But Whitlock apparently believes James is too wealthy to actually experience racism. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith and Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler both chimed in on Twitter, but Bennett went in on Whitlock’s take. Red Sox Foundation, Flywheel Team Up To Raise Money For ‘Home Base’ Program
Share this: Boston Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, the Red Sox Foundation and Flywheel Sports teamed up Thursday to deliver for a good cause. The Boston health club hosted a 45-minute charity ride to benefit the “Home Base” program, which is dedicated to helping Post-9/11 veterans heal once they’ve returned home, and the sweat-filled day raised $10,000 for the program. Cleveland native Kory Siverd got a license plate commemorating the event after his beloved Cavs won their first NBA title, but you won’t find the phrase “3-1 lead” anywhere on it.
