Despite leading the league in rushing touchdowns last season and posting career highs in all three rushing categories, the former New England Patriots running back remains unsigned two months into free agency. The Patriots opted to get younger at the position, signing free agents Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee, and while the New York Giants and Detroit Lions reportedly have shown interest in Blount, the 30-year-old has yet to land a new deal. He remains determined, however. After his selection to this year’s “NFL Top 100” on Monday night — ahead of ex-Patriots teammates Malcolm

NFLPA Files Grievance Against NFL Alleging Overprescription Of Painkillers
Share this: The NFL Players Association filed a grievance against the NFL on Monday, and it doesn’t look too good for the league. The NFLPA is alleging the NFL violated the collective bargaining agreement by knowing teams were improperly dispensing painkillers to players but failing to do anything about it. The grievance states “the NFL and clubs have ‘disregarded … explicit CBA requirements as they apply to the proper, legal, medically ethical prescription, dispensing, and transportation of prescription painkillers.’” The Players Association says it warned the NFL about these violations — which range from not informing players about the risks of mixing pills to overprescribing them — in April, and the league didn’t respond in a timely manner. The grievance came after it
Blake Griffin, Gordon Hayward To Thunder? ‘Area 21’ Stirs Up NBA Rumors
Share this: Kevin Garnett and his former Boston Celtics teammates provided some interesting insight into their dynamic of their squad Monday night during their reunion on KG’s “Area 21” show. But even non-Celtics fans might perk up at some of the other soundbites to come out of the discussion. Near the end of the show, “Area 21” displayed a graphic of notable NBA players who will become free agents this summer. What followed was a steady stream of speculation on where those players will land, with Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Kendrick Perkins offering notable takes. Davis, for one, seemed pretty adamant Blake Griffin is leaving the Los Angeles Clippers, shouting “Blake? He outta there!” in a weird, high-pitched voice. Davis also had a destination in mind for Griffin:
NBA Rumors: Kyle Lowry Considering Free-Agent Move To Western Conference
Share this: Kyle Lowry could be moving on from the Toronto Raptors. The veteran point guard confirmed to reporters Monday that he’d be opting out of his contract with Toronto to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. And while we’re still months away from finding out where Lowry will be playing next season, he reportedly is thinking about making a jump to the Western Conference. Late-season rumbles that Kyle Lowry will give legit thought to a free-agent switch to the West are sure to rise in volume after this series — Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) May 7, 2017 At 31-years-old, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Lowry join a contending team with legitimate postseason aspirations. The San Antonio Spurs, in particular, could be a good fit for Lowry
NBC Sports Chairman Explains Potential Commercial Changes In NFL Games
Share this: Football fans love tuning in every Sunday to watch their favorite NFL team play, but nobody likes breaks in the action. This happens quite a bit during an NFL broadcast, though, as there seemingly is a commercial break after every play. NBC Sports chairman Mark Lazarus is aware of this problem, and is looking into making the viewing experience more enjoyable for fans. In a recent interview with Variety magazine, Lazarus outlined a few potential resolutions. “We are working on formatting that reduces the number of breaks, but maybe are a little bit longer, maybe 30 seconds longer,” Lazerus said. “We may take out some of the breaks. I think that will enhance the viewing experience. When you have a play, take a break,
Report: Mets Sent Security Team To Check On Matt Harvey After Ballpark No-Show
Share this: The Matt Harvey saga continues to get weirder. The New York Mets suspended their star pitcher for three games after he failed to show up to Citi Field for their game against the Miami Marlins on Saturday, and the Mets reportedly sent some people to check up on Harvey that night. FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman reported Monday, citing sources, that the Mets sent security personnel to Harvey’s Manhattan apartment to see what was going on with the star pitcher Saturday night. Harvey reportedly told the Mets he had a migraine and wouldn’t be able to make it to the park, and he answered the door in his pajamas around 10 p.m, according to Heyman. Heyman reported that people close to Harvey say Mets
Why Security Questioned Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s Dad After Son’s First Win
Share this: Ricky Stenhouse Sr. has a habit of climbing catch fences. The father of NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has taken that shortcut to victory lane before after his son’s racing wins in lower series, but when his scaling attempt was thwarted on Sunday, things got interesting for him at Talladega Superspeedway. And by “interesting” we mean he was temporarily detained while his son celebrated the No. 17 team’s victory in the GEICO 500. [embedded content] “Somebody stole his golf cart last night, I think, for one thing, so he was worried about that,” Stenhouse Jr. told reporters, laughing. “I told him we’ll get him another one. Then, I don’t have the full story, (but) he got escorted to victory lane, though, by troopers.” Roush
